Trees and Gardens of Balboa Park

Rate this book
Trees and gardens of Balboa Park is a product of the city of San Diego Park and recreation Department. This volume is the result of the " Balboa Park Tree Survey," a research project funded by The San Diego Foundation, Balboa Part Advisory Committee. The information collected in that project was utilized to develop the "Balboa Park Tree Management and Reforestation Plan" and the Balboa Park Master Plan. The San Diego Foundation, Balboa Park Advisory Committee, and the Favrot Fund co-funded the publication of this book as a public service to provide historical and horticultural information about Balboa Park Gardens and trees. The purpose of this book is to provide a handy illustrated guide to the trees and gardens of Balboa Park. One of its primary objectives is to promote a greater appreciation of Balboa Park's horticultural history and assets through a better understanding of them, and, in doing so, to stimulate a commitment to their conservation. --- from book's Foreword
