[Reading Prompt: A Book with a Rabbit in it]

This book is filled with stories that uses analogies and metaphors to preach about love and acceptance. The use of Ramar's gossamer wings gaining a color for each meaning interaction he has with other spirits in The-World-In-Between is a beautiful analogy for how we grow from each other. And the beauty of the colorful wings shows the importance of harmony and community.

This book is more about emotional learning which can't be summed into specific words or instructions and is more of a feeling. The stories and characters are all very lovely, and its written very well. At times it does feel overly childish or preachy, when I don't think the author was meaning to be.

The entire time I was reading I was thinking, 'Wow, this author is quite wise, and I love how he designed these stories and created all these allegories and philosophies', only to reach the end and read the author's note, where he claims that all of this is real. Like this all happened to him. He really met the rabbit Ramar in the World-in-Between, and these chapters are actual accounts of events he believed to have really happened.

I'm entirely sure the author actually believes what he saw, and I'm not about to bash someone for believing in that, but it does change the context of the entire book to know that the author isn't just creating allegories and metaphors in order to teach important life lessons, but is more of an actual life account of Rabbit Buddha.

Still very insightful and a lovely written book. Just the author's note does change the way I digest the lessons unfortunately.

One of those children's books that - for me - never gets old. I was introduced to this by a librarian I worked for, and for whom I have great respect.

I read it when I was a child and I remember it was my favorite. I think that is really easy for a child to read it and beautiful

"Knowledge expands your choices" Lydia explained, "as nothing else can."

"It seems to me there are lessons just about everywhere if we take the time to listen and think and remember." - Ramar

Heartfelt lessons and lovely artwork.

I read my grandfather's novel as a little girl, and I've been meaning to read it again. Been missing him a lot lately.

A bit less enchanting than the first time I read it 10 years ago, bit still inspiring. Reminds me of The Alchemist in its simplicity.
