From New York Times bestselling author Julia Kent comes a very special sale. Regular price $25.99!
Darla's not the type to pick up hitchhikers on the turnpike in rural Ohio -- especially naked ones. She also didn't plan to have her first book become a New York Times and USA Today bestseller, and turn into eight books of heart, heat, hilarity and crazy comedy mixed in with wild, deep romance that lasts and lasts...
The Random Series giant boxed set contains the first 8 books in the Random series, a bestselling saga that defies categorization. Romantic comedy, heart-stopping drama, unconventional sensuality, rock star gods, mousy librarians with quite a nightstand drawer stash, a mother who is addicted to sweepstakes winnings, sugar-free gummy bears that cause a CDC scare, and a chicken running for president (who probably polls better than any of the current choices)...you won't find another book series quite as "random" as this.
Save when you buy this omnibus, and sink into a half a million words of fun and love.
This boxed set contains: Random Acts of Crazy (Book 1) Random Acts of Trust (Book 2) Random Acts of Fantasy (Book 3) Random Acts of Hope (Book 4) Randomly Ever After: Sam and Amy (Book 5) Random Acts of Love (Book 6) Random on Tour: Los Angeles (Book 7) Merry Random Christmas (Book 8)
New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Julia Kent writes romantic comedy with an edge. Since 2013, she has sold more than 2 million books, with 5 New York Times bestsellers and more than 21 appearances on the USA Today bestseller list. Her books have been translated into French, German, and Italian, with more titles releasing in the future.
From billionaires to BBWs to new adult rock stars, Julia finds a sensual, goofy joy in every contemporary romance she writes. Unlike Shannon from Shopping for a Billionaire, she did not meet her husband after dropping her phone in a men's room toilet (and he isn't a billionaire in a rom com).
She also writes romantic suspense as Meli Raine, sexy shifter romances as DJ Jennings, billionaire shifters as half of the author team Diana Seere, and co-authors with Elisa Reed.
She lives in New England with her husband and three children in a household where she is the only person with the gene required to change empty toilet paper rolls.
Random Acts of Crazy I kind of don’t even know what to say about this book. I kind of loved it, but at the same time, there were some things that left me scratching my head. Let me start by saying that I adore what Julia Kent does. She has a flair for romantic comedy that leaves me gasping for breath and my sides aching. This book is super funny. There’s lots of laughs and scorching hot intimate encounters in this story. It’s somewhere in the connections between our three lead characters that I got a little lost. It’s easy to see Darla’s love for her family and the guilt and obligations she feels. The brotherhood between Trevor and Joe is quite clearly laid out. I just didn’t totally feel the chemistry between Darla, Trevor, and Joe. I know it’s there. I’ve seen it in later books of the series, but here it fell a little flat. Random Acts of Trust This was an emotional roller-coaster. It’s funny and heart-rending and everything else in between. There’s not much I love more than to see a much deserved second chance come to be. Amy and Sam are a couple who badly needed another shot to get it right. Theirs is a story about truth, how it’s created, how it’s re-created, and the family dysfunctions it can hide. It also shows us the miracles that can be accomplished by speaking our truth. This book has lots of side-splittingly funny moments that help lighten up the darkly poignant ones. There are several one-liners in this story that I will be cherishing for as long as I can remember them. (So… for about the next forty minutes or so…) I can’t wait to read more Random. Random Acts of Fantasy I really don’t know what to say about this book. It’s absurd, it’s silly, it’s a bit like a car wreck in that once you see it you can’t look away. Reading Darla is so much like reading stream-of-consciousness. You really don’t have any idea where it’s going to take you next. I love that this book shows us Darla, Trevor, and Joe getting real and getting serious about their feelings for one another. The antics leading them to the place where they could get that vulnerable left me laughing my well-padded arse off. Random Acts of Hope It’s been a while since a book has made me laugh AND cry this hard. Second chances are my catnip, and just like Sam and Amy, Liam and Charlotte badly needed this opportunity to clear the air of everything that had happened before. The author does a remarkable job of handling their issues with both respect and humor; providing us with education and entertainment. As much as I’m dying to read more about this quirky crew, my emotions just might need a bit of a break first. Randomly Ever After: Sam and Amy Murphy’s Law suggests that if it can go wrong, it will. And the guys, and their girls of Random Acts of Crazy seem to prove out this theory. This short little story manages to touch on a bunch of big themes; including love, jealousy, trust, and forgiveness, as well as that sense of “the family you choose” that fills every story in this series. Random Acts of Love My sides hurt from laughing so hard. I love that the author took several of the funniest memes on the internet and turned them into things that “actually” happened to these characters. It’s not all just fun and games though. There’s some very deep soul-searching that Darla, Trevor, and Joe have to go through and they make for some pretty emotional moments. I may have been laughing to the point where I was having trouble breathing, but my heart was breaking for this trio when it looked like they might not be able to get out of their own way to make it right. Random on Tour: Los Angeles I think I’m beginning to notice a bit of a pattern with this series: the mostly ridiculously funny stories seem to alternate with the deep emotional ones. This book doesn’t have scene after scene of slapstick pratfalls; this story is more the angsty dramatic type. The humor that’s in here is found in little flourishes that lighten the mood and keep us from floundering in the emotional abyss. Maggie and Tyler’s story goes to some dark places. And parts of it made me want to bawl my eyes out. This pair of survivors are perfect together and I loved reading about them. Merry Random Christmas This is Christmas as it can only happen to Darla, Trevor, and Joe. It’s not exactly an accurate comparison, but this felt a little like the Three Stooges do It’s a Wonderful Life. There’s all the zany slapstick humor we’ve come to expect and love from this series. There’s also some beautiful sweet moments showing the power and magic of the season.
Kent, Julia "The Random Series Boxed Set (Books 1-8)" 1) "Random Acts of Crazy" Rated 5★. This book is hilarious and the creation of Darla Trevor & Joe is cleverly done. And Mavis the chicken was a hilarious situation!! 2) "Random Acts of Trust" Rated 5★ Amy & Sam are an incredible couple. So many disconnects that should never have happened, but they found their way back. And the phone incident was just priceless!! 3) "Random Acts of Fantasy" Rated 5★ Loved the island antics, though some more than others! Joe, Darla & Trevor make such a great triad!. 4) "Random Acts of Hope" Rated 5★ Liam & Charlotte are an amazing story...the issues they faced were treated with such grace and style by Ms. Kent, it lingers in your heart & soul. 5) "Randomly Ever After: Sam and Amy" Rated 4★ Mistaken identity, yet everything turns out happy! 6) "Random Acts of Love" Rated 5★ Another hilarious entry in the craziness that is Darla, Trevor & Joe. Similar to other genres but uniquely crazy good. I don't find the casual acceptance of illegal drugs life affirming but everything else is. This series is awesomesauce with sexy times not because of them. It has so much more than the physical.
I loved reading this whole series. They're fun and sexy and witty and each one is different that it was easy moving from book to book and not feeling like you were reading the same thing. I couldn't put this down.
I loved reading this as a set. The laugh out loud moments just kept coming. Even the serious/sad topics had their light moments to keep you enthralled. It was great to see the stories of everyone involved in RAOC evolve and mingle. Now I just hope to see more about Frown and Maggie.
Somewhere between comedy and erotica, these books are thoroughly enjoyable. Truly a "can't put it down" series, start reading when you don't need to go to work the next day.
