"My cousin was one of the baddest living. She could stand in front of a hundred men, look sweet as pie, and shoot her gun before any of them had a chance to pull theirs.” – Katara James Meya James, the only daughter of drug lord, Cedrick James, was more than just a pretty face. She was raised by her father to be a Queen. A Queen of the streets. Growing up without her mother caused Meya to be less in-tune with the feminine energy within her. She didn’t value love. Relationships. Compassion. Because of this, she lives her life as a man-eater. Feeding off of men and draining them of their energy until she has no more of a use for them. For a while, she was able to get away with this, until her father was sent to prison to serve a life sentence. This caused her to take a more serious role in his illegal empire, and grow closer to his second in command – Salem Myers. Meya and Salem met ten years earlier when Salem decided that he was brave and lethal enough to rob the biggest drug dealer in Memphis – Cedrick James. Cedrick found out, beat some sense into him, and took Salem under his right wing, keeping Meya’s place secure under his left. Over the years, Meya and Salem grew to love, want, and respect each other… but Salem’s loyalty towards Cedrick kept him from taking things with Meya too far. After years of fighting how they feel for each other, an enemy enters their camp and puts their love, loyalty, and lives on the line. Betrayal is afoot… and Meya and Salem can’t decide who to blame and who to trust. Will their love fizzle out before it truly flourishes? Or will they retain their rightful places as King and Queen of the Memphis drug scene and add love to the list of things they’ve conquered? Read Meya and Salem’s story to find out!

Amazing read, loved the closeness of the cousins Me and Kat and the depth of the characters. Salem is my Bae with his stubborn crazy self. Loved the book B!!!! waiting on part two. I need it!!!!
I swear B is the queen with the pen. This whole time I had a feeling that Nasir was John the Baptist. I'm still rotting for Meya and Salem because I feel they were meant to be. Can't wait to see what happens with Katara and Ricardo, I feel like there relationship is going to get interesting. I swear I wish I could give this book a 10 star because you deserves it. Excellent read B. Love keep up the great work, your a genius...
Poor Meya. She has really gotten herself into a big mess. I hope that she can get herself out of it. It's obvious that she really loves Salem and he really loves her. But because of her dad, their relationship ended up being toxic. There was plenty of twists and turns, some I saw coming, and others I didn't. It had me almost in tears at times, but I held it together. LOL. I just had to know who John the Baptist was, and now that I do, he needs to be dealt with. #UIP
Meya really lived up to the title. Nasir really surprised me. I'm hoping Say doesn't make the wrong decision. I thought Say & Me were good together despite their complicated situation & hopefully they can work it out in part 2
Let me begin this review by saying that Ms. B. Love is actually one of my all-time FAVORITE writers. I know that when I open her book that the simplicity of the story line is going to draw me in every single time. She gives us just enough to keep us hooked and then spoon feeds us the rest as if to slowly but surely nurture our literary souls. Now with this newest book it was a little different from most of her other reads but this in no way takes away from what is arguably her best work to date. The story is centered around Salem, Meya, Katara, Nasir and Ricardo with the additional supporting cast to round out and outstanding array of characters. Immediately I recognize the “soul tie” between Salem and Meya. It was obvious that their love transcended time and was just something that was meant to be. The constant barrage of obstacles and impediments to a love so pure was agonizing to watch unfold. The devastating secrets that were literally a bombshell for Salem shook the very foundation of his core and of that of the others around him but the mental fortitude and strength of character that he possesses in my opinion will seem him through. The sisterly bond that was present between Katara and Meya did my heart good to see. I love when you can see a genuine bond between females without all of the subterfuge and jealousy that sometimes is prevalent in female relationships. I honestly can’t wait to see what is next for this cast. As usual Ms. B. Love kept us enthralled from the very first word to the last. She never disappoints and I honestly don’t see how she ever can with the ability that she has exhibited on each and every new release. Kudos Ms. B. Love keep them coming so that we can continue to read and envelope ourselves into the wondrous worlds that you create for us time and time again!!!!!
This was everything! I was all up in my feelings but when Salem shed a tear I was done! Their relationship was so powerful man. Like the bond I felt is unbreakable even if they trying to break it. I hope he don't kill daddy tho. John must go. He might not have to die but he can't have Meya. I can't wait to read part 2. I know you gone bring it.
Absolutely great! I love this book.. for the first time I'm speechless.. Lol if you're thinking bout reading this book YOU SHOULD no doubt n you'll understand why lol
Dang how is Meya gonna get out of this? So far she had to make a deal with the devil ti save her dad unbeknownst to her Salem and her dad know a little more than she does at the moment. Rushing through this review to get ti part 2 to find out how this all plays out. Once again I have read another B. Love book that I couldn't get enough of.
I saw that twist, I don't understand Salem and Meya though. They obviously loved each other, I understand his loyalty to her dad but I don't get why they just couldn't make it work. Her pops is on lock down, get it together
I so didn’t see that ending coming! This book had me from the very first scene. B threw me for a loop with this one. Now on to book 2 because I have to see what happens. I have hope for Meya and Salem but it’s not looking good.
Let me start by saying this, these people couldn't have had the streets on lock. Meya was to naive and stupid for me. Listening to her cousin is what really made matters worse. Salem is too loyal but also blinded by love to see the enemy.
I cried and cried and cried like a I'm baby omg you have out done yourself with this book. Omg I've never cried so hard from reading a book lol wow just Wow
I reread this shocked as if it was the first time ! Not gone lie John the Baptist would’ve had me risking it all too 😂😂😂 Definitely would’ve got played
Oh my goodness, this book was ssssssoooooo good! Poor Meya was in love with Salem, and Salem was in love with Meya, but out of respect for Meya's father, Cedrick, Salem wouldn't act on it, and Meya paid for it. It created a love/hate relationship between the two, and that's what made the relationship so toxic, but loving at the same time.
Meya was cold in the streets, but she had 3 weaknesses; her father, her cousin, and Salem. She hated the fact that Salem wouldn't be in a relationship with her, because of respect. Even though Salem and Meya wasn't together, Salem wouldn't ever think about Meya being with someone else, and he was very protective of her as well. You would have thought that Meya and Salem was in a relationship, but Meya wanted more than what Salem gave her. Meya tried to move on, not knowing that she was running right into the arms of the enemy.
Salem, looked at Meya's father, Cedrick, as his own biological father, until he fought out, exactly how his parents were murdered, and the person that was behind it. Now, he has to seek revenge, and the only woman that he has ever loved, would be affected as well.
I can't wait to read part 2, because my questions need to be answered.
Unfortunately, after reading this book, I may not have a husband! My house wifely duties were all ignored because I couldn't put this book down. From beginning to end it held my interest. The storyline flowed and was consistent. It was so intense, my neck hurts. So the characters...hmm Salem and Meya, that chemistry, that love, that bond, that tug of war relationship that just have you at the edge. One minute here, one minute there. At least her cousin's relationship wasn't as stressful. But I hope they come around because they were made for each other. I'm mum to what I feel for Nasir, disappointed, sneaky. A lot to look forward to and I'm totally hyped to find out what's gonna happen next. I hope that Salem and Meya find their way and really act on it. This was a fantastic read! Hope part two comes quickly. Great job!
Reading this book was the hardest. Salem and Meya, I just needed them to be together for real . I knew Nasir was John. My emotions are all over the place, let me read part 2.
Website's you I read this book in one day cause it was just that good I couldn't put the book down. Girl your writing talent is amazing, you are the real MVP! I can't wait till the next book comes out because you never disappoint. Your books seem to get better and better the more your bless us with your gift. You are definitely one of my top five writers. I get nothing but the next from you. I hope Salem can get his feeling in check long enough to help Meya kill John the Baptist and get the love of his life back
Let me first start by saying if I could have jumped into this story at the end Lord knows I would have!!! What in the world is really going on!!! Omg. I was not expecting that chain of events. B Love has outdone herself yet again. This book definitely kept me anxious and wanting more. I'm so torn between Meya and Salem! That dang Salem is just everything!! I mean my goodness, B definitely knows how to create some irresistible men! Loved it!
This was an ok book. Like it wasn't crazy good but just ok for me. I kinda had an idea that John the Babtist and Nasir was the same person. It's still kind of shocking and now it changes everything, because I really wanted Meya and Nasir together as a couple but now he just had to ruin everything because there is no way she will trust him and go back to him now. I'm not in a rush to read book 2 but I will read it thou
I just can't even put into words what I'm feeling right now. This was was so good, no scratch that Amazing!!!! The love between Salem and Me was just so real! Like I could really feel their love. B.Love never disappoints and I can't wait for Part 2! There are a lot of questions that need answers and a lot of snakes that need to be handled!!
I'm a consummate reader, but this book had me from the beginning. The characters and their interaction's with one another kept me reading, it was as if I knew them personally. I went through every emotion while reading this book. Kudos for a well written book and another author that has captured me as a fan of their work.
Whew!! I don't know what to say. I was expecting for that person to be who I thought he was. My boy Salem is just so hurt. Things have to get fixed. Looking forward to part 2
B love how could you end it like that. Meya you dropped the ball on Nasir/John. But hey when you searching for love you let your guards down. I love Dalem with his confused ass. Love the bond between Kat and Me. Can't wait for part 2.
This book was so good from beginning to end every page drama action intense revelation revealed well written story was well written this book was everything love it
It was a lot of twist and turned. I was stuck because I didn't know who was trying kill them but when I founded out I was stuck cause I couldn't believe it. I KNEW was something up with him but didn't knew what. On part 2 NOW
John the Baptist done let that WAP cloud his judgment. These people got more skeletons than a grave yard. Pete a hater and can't accept rejection. Have several seats sir!!
