Adam loved Luke, loved who he was even if he wasn’t great in bed, but he had needs.

I haven't read a cuckold book in ages so I thought eh, why not?. Unfortunately this book is 2% cuckholding, 98% cheating. I don't seek out cheating books because while I don't have an issue with reading about cheating, I get annoyed if the cheater is being an asshole about it. Adam, the cheater in this book, is a major jerk and I instantly disliked him. He's unsatisfied by the sexual side of the relationship he has with Adam, and instead of talking to Adam about it, he decides to have sex with his friend Carter. Just so we're all on the same page...

Cuckolding is a sexual fetish or relationship dynamic where a person derives sexual arousal from watching or knowing their partner engages in sexual activity with someone else. It operates on enthusiastic mutual consent and heavily relies on clear communication, boundaries, and trust.

Adam spends most of the book complaining about Luke's dick, and calling Luke stupid for not noticing when he cheats on him. He revels in his derision for Luke. Adam doesn't seem to have any respect for Luke, which is why I wasn't exactly feeling the love between them. I also wasn't thrilled with Carter for being so happy to be the person enabling Adam to cheat. Anyway, back to cuckolding. Adam and Carter are actively hooking up when Luke comes home unexpectedly and catches them. He watches and enjoys for like 5 minutes before joining in and he and Adam DP Carter. The consent, communication, boundaries and trust were completely lacking. Luke didn't seem overly upset to find Adam cheating on him, and I think the relationship is toast.

“You want to watch me fucking Carter,” Adam repeated, for clarification. He did it again, for extra clarification: “My boyfriend wants to see me put my dick in someone else.”

If Adam and Luke had mutually agreed to bring Carter in to spice things up, the cuckolding aspect would've been stronger and the characters would've been more likeable. Degredation when your partner is into it? Hot. But degredation and cruelty behind his back just gives me the ick. On top of all that, I'll just constructively suggest that the writing needs some work 🙂.

Luke and Adam have been married for six years…but things have been getting stale for a while now.
