Kay has written a comprehensive review, with which I agree. The only thing I'd like to add is that Leah & David both have the disconcerting habit of talking out loud to themselves. Also, if it's only 7 or 8 months since baby Simon died, would David be ready for another relationship?

A decent read with lots of emotions but i have to say the romance was lacking in my eyes but it was written well.

3 1/2 Stars ~ When the Head of the hospital's fertility department suddenly died, Leah seemed to be working around the clock doing two jobs, but it's work she loves. She can't help but be terribly disappointed when the head position is given to an outsider, though once she meets David, she has to admit he's the right man for the job. They have a great working rapore and share an attraction that proves to be distracting. When David has a vulnerable moment and reveals to Leah the loss of his infant son, she consoles him, and suddenly they can no longer control their attraction. The morning after sees Leah sneaking out, and David pretending to be asleep; the last thing either wants is to jeopardize their working relationship. After a few weeks of avoiding each other, Leah makes a discovery. Their one night of passion has lead to a pregnancy, one that Leah knows is doomed to fail with her track record of seven miscarriages by her eighth week. To lose another baby will be heartbreaking for both David and Leah; and with the clock ticking, David is determined to use all his expertise to prevent that from happening.

This is an engaging lovestory of two emotionally wounded people afraid of risking the hearts again. Ms. Metcalfe gives us the world of those that work to solve infertility and the joys and heartbreaks that they face daily. With Leah and David, they've both lost a baby and every loss with the couples they work with is shared. This is an emotional topic, and while Leah and David do have their HEA, there are couples portrayed along the way that do not.
