I usually like books by this author, but not this one. You never buy someone a dog without asking first, they are not toys.

For once the heroine was not an airhead and the male was truly a nice person. Enjoyed how religion played a part in the story to help understand the difficulties that occur in life. The concept was great that Beth was determined to fulfill her obligations for working in a rural area even though she never wanted to go back to the mountains of Kentucky ever again. Surprised how Clark would be willing to lose her rather than leave the mining career.

I really like Irene Brand's writing! I love a story where there is significant purpose in life - serving others makes us happy. This was a sweet story, with good character development. I enjoy a good Christian romance, and this is a good one. I'll have to look up more of Ms Brand's work!

Cute historical romance book. Wasn't the same as all the others, but close. I liked the twists and turns in it- it kept me wanting to finish the book and find out what happens!
