HND Children; 1977 by bill bunston a technical directory of today's major warplanes, pictures and text is off the chart, great book with 254 pages dj is worn and torn.
Bill Gunston was a British aviation and military author. He flew with Britain's Royal Air Force from 1945 to 1948, and after pilot training became a flying instructor. He spent most of his adult life doing research and writing on aircraft and aviation. He was the author of over 350 books and articles. His work included many books published by Salamander Books.
A summary of most of the military aircraft types in service in 1983. Most types are accompanied by a potted history, data, at least one good photo, a three view plan and a colour profile. A small number also include a three view colour plan. The format of the book means that all illustrations are reproduced to a generous size, except for the three view plans. Much of the illustrations come from the stock of such items that appear in most Aerospace Publications books of that period, but most of them (not all) are quite good. The potted histories contain some questionable information, as well as the authors opinions from time to time, but that just adds unintended humour. Passable.
