Clubbing of the gunfire: 101 Australian war poems

Rate this book
Clubbing of the Gunfire is an anthology of poems written about a century of wars in which Australians have fought and died, from the Sudan Campaign of 1885 through both World Wars to the Vietnam War. Many of the poets are famous - 'Banjo' Paterson, Henry Lawson, Vincent Buckley, Kenneth Slessor, Judith Wright, A. D. Hope - but many little-known poets add their voices to a distinctively Australian chorus of patriotism, fear, humour, hatred, terror, grief, exhilaration, protest and resignation.
