Un libro sulla storia di uno degli stilisti più importanti del nostro tempo. Un uomo che ha lavorato tanto per essere al vertice. Uno stie semplice che valorizza ogni donna. Le foto sono pazzesche.
Soo, actually, I think it’s already a few days ago since I finished reading this book, but it gave me a lot to think about until now.
At first, I was really astonished by this book and the story, since it provided many valuable insights on the life and the story of Giorgio Armani as well as his style and his priorities when it comes to designing, but also his lifestyle. It was a very easy and fast read, especially made very enjoyable by the colourful pictures.
However. After thinking about it again and again, I came up with the fact that it only highlights the positive aspects of this inspiring person as well as his brand. What was clearly missing is the neutrality. After reading everything even the final pages, where maybe a little sentence appeared saying “He is undoubtedly autocratic…. ‘You can disagree with him, but there’s not much point. He’s always proved right in the end.’” (p.144), everything suddenly felt like a 155-pages advertisement or praise for the brand. That’s a bit sad. Luckily, I was able to find this book at the local library, in any case, I would not recommend this book for anyone who is not a hardcore Armani fan or wants to be in the future, since apparently you pay up to $46 for it. (Or you find it at the library :). Also out of the 155 pages maybe 85 actually have text on them…
