When Cole Stevens travels from Montana to Texas to close a business deal with his old friend, Heath McCoy, he never expects to close in on a relationship, too. But with one brief moment of contact in the airport with a pretty young woman carrying a guitar, his heart starts to unravel.
Sarah McClendon, fresh out of the gate after landing the runner-up spot on American Star, is touted as the up-and-coming country music star of the year. When she tangles with her manager at the Highlands Ranch annual barbecue, Cole steps up to the plate to protect her from the smarmy, poor excuse of a human being.
But it’s just a weekend right? Cole will be back home on the ranch in Montana come Monday, and Sarah has a career to get off the ground. Can a love-at-first-sight weekend turn into the happily-ever-after neither of them are sure they even want?
The author of 70+ romantic novels, novellas, and short stories, Maddie James pens romance and suspense stories in contemporary and paranormal worlds. Her contemporary worlds often lean toward small towns and western settings, complete with cowboys, Alpha men, and strong, take-charge women.
Her romance writing career launched in 1997 as a traditionally published author with Kensington Books. Currently publishing as an independent author, she writes full time from her Midwest, small town home, where she also gardens, cooks, and chases the dog.
Affaire de Coeur says, “James shows a special talent for traditional romance,” and RT Book Reviews claims, “James deftly combines romance and suspense, so hop on for an exhilarating ride.”
Seducing Sarah is part of the Hell Yeah series and I want to read the rest of the books, I could not put it down! Cole Stevens travels from Montana to Texas to do business with an old friend Heath McCoy. While at the airport he meets Sarah McClendon who has just won second spot on the American Star it is for just a brief time. He next sees her at the Highlands Ranch annual barbecue and she is not happy with her manager. What Happens? Will these two get together? I received a free copy of this book and voluntarily chose to review it.
I enjoyed reading Seducing Sarah by Maddie James. It's Cole and Sarah's story. The two characters are both believable and likable. Sarah is working on her burgeoning music career but must navigate a slimy manager. He wants more from her than she is willing to give and tends to be a bit on the abusive side. When things get worse Cole steps in. She is thankful to him for his help and can't help but think about him afterwards. Cole is a hard working man visiting Texas on a business trip. He is about to acquire some land. When he sees a man bossing a beautiful woman around he decides to step in and help her. He can tell that she is uncomfortable. Things get more complicated later. Their attraction to one another is undeniable and they must figure out what they want. Do they want a relationship? If they do can they make it work? Or will the two of them end up going back to the way things were before they met? I would recommend Seducing Sarah to anyone who enjoys romance novellas.
I JUST REALLY LOVE MADDIE JAMES'S WRITING STYLE. THIS BOOK WAS SO VERY GOOD. THE SUSPENSE KEPT YOU SITTING ON THE EDGE OF YOUR SEAT WONDERING WHAT WAS GOING TO HAPPEN NEXT. I REALLY HAD A HARD TIME PUTTING IT DOWN. COULDN'T WAIT TO SEE HOW IT WAS GOING TO END. SO GOOD! I FINISHED READING THIS BOOK ON 4/28/2023.
Cole goes to Texas to buy a ranch in Montana from his friend Heath. They are having a big BBQ at the ranch and entertainment. Sarah is in Texas to do a show but her manager is getting really sleazy. Cole the cowboy to the rescue and happiness for both.
I enjoyed this book. It was fun and interesting. Cole is a solid man with cowboy honor. He steps in an helps out Sarah when he sees her in a bad situation. That is not to say that Sarah is a wilting flower. She is tough, having found herself in a difficult position as she is trying to get her music career up and going. They have an insta-love romance that is cute, though not entirely realistic. The characters are pretty well rounded for the length of the story. It is a novella so the story and character development are not at the level of a full-length novel. I will say that I haven't read all of the Hell Yeah! series, nor all of the Montana Ranchers series, and I was still able to get through this book. That said, I did feel like I was missing some inside jokes, and definitely not getting the full history of everything and everyone that we met. Other than that, the story was fun enough and Maddie James did a good job with it.

What a great read by Maddie James! This story takes place on Heath McCoy's homestead and his resort. Cole is there from Montana to purchase some land from Heath while at his annual barbeque. He sees a woman at the airport clearly distressed and wants to help but doesn't. It eats at him. Lo and behold, the woman is no other than Heath's entertainment, newest country singer Sarah. When he sees her still upset and realizes it's her manager causing it, he steps in. Cole & Sarah become an item real fast against the wishes of her sleazy perverted manager. When he's thrown off the ranch, he decides he wants revenge and Heath is right up there with Sarah in his line of fire. Very action packed in the end. This book was given to me for an honest review.

This is a good story about a young up & coming country singer and a man who is buying land. They meet and it's love at first sight except her Manager is a sleaze bag. Not too long or detail oriented. Good read.
