Excerpt from Revolutionary Incidents of Suffolk and Kings Counties: With an Account of the Battle of Long Island and the British Prisons and Prison-Ships at New-York
The history of the Island during this soul-stirring period has been hitherto clouded in gross darkness. Indeed the very name scarcely appears on the pages of our History, except to record a disastrous defeat of our arms.

I thought this book would have had more details and be broken down better. It’s a collection of letters and articles from that period of time. Still an interesting history read, but not what I was expecting.
