A lot of my friends refuse to comprehend my "regression" into children's lit. I used to try and explain that for an overworked english lit student who was busy looking at decoding everything, the simplicity of children's lit soothed my mind and became escape.

But of course it didn't work, so I explain this away as "research". Oddly shuts everyone up. But aww Little Richard! I have a second hand hardcover that I got for less than 100Rs which has no beautiful/funny/eclectic inscription on it, but is for some reason pricked with all these holes that I assume (by 6th standard experience) is from a compass. Now I want to know who the kid was.

The most beautiful illustrations, and the most adorable stories. Melts my heart. I'm never parting with this.

I'm at my parents' for Christmas and they have our old books out for my 3yo niece. Next year: less demanding reading challenge so I don't count easy-reader books as part of my count. :D

That said, these are sweet stories and the drawings are as sweet as the text.
