Rate this book
Years before this story starts a young lady disappears in Tamsworth Forest and is never seen again. The incident has left an aura of mystery over the vast area of thickly growing trees. Then years later another young lady called Sue vanishes in the same way. What is the secret of Tamsworth Forest? Professor Graham Harding is determined to find out. When Sue disappears she finds herself in another world and meets people she never knew existed including the family she was separated from at birth and the huntsman Thane who owns a remarkable white wolf. Her adventures lead her into danger when she is captured by the cruel gypsies but her friends and the brave wolf are there to rescue her and restore her to her rightful place in this forest kingdom.

If I didn't know better I would think this imaginative fantasy story was written 60 years ago. The cosy informal style makes it a perfect book to read out loud. Like The Lion the Witch and the Wardrobe it is an adventure in two worlds but full of family secrets, conflict and violence. If you like your stories with horses, wolves, bows and arrows, love and magic this is the book for you.
