It is a very interesting historical document.
The author sees the problems of the regime, the opportunities and points to the possible future.
There are many things that is hard to find now, but easily described in the book.
In particular, I was impressed that the author preduct future hunger in 1931. (The opposition in Party also wrote the memo that if the course won't change "hunger would be unavoidable").
The start of the great "purge" (by allowing "trials" by "troika" - three people) is satiristically underlined bythe author that after the ten years there will be no enemy of the state.
There is a great history of Stalin getting all the power and destroying opinions in Party. The author says that made the government more fragile and that after the death of Stalin the system might collapse.
