This deck is a beautifully conceived and painted oracle that illustrates a group of symbolic figures that may have parallels with others (such as the Tarot), but is still uniquely its own.
The companion book differs from that of so many other decks as it is clearly aimed at people giving themselves readings, rather than reading for others. The suggested healing tricks and affirmations that come with the descriptions of each card add an appropriate element of playful activity to one's reading.
Now for the one element that was problematic: One card features a certain word in the name that I'm certain the deck's creator did not realize was a slur. So many people still think that the dreadful G-slur means something like "free spirit" or the like, when in fact it has long been an insult to the Romani people. The card that contains the word could have used any number of other modifiers (the word "Rogue" comes to mind) to get the message across, or simply left the card entitled "Columbine." To save the card (and the deck), I call to mind the numerous drag queens/kings and other shock performers who adopt, mock, and reclaim a number of stereotypes and slurs to provoke a reaction from the audience. Thinking of the figure on the card in this context goes some way to salving my conscience, but it is a rationalization I have to put effort into.
That one flaw aside, I do believe the deck is gorgeous and can speak to that part of us that refuses to grow up too much and who can still stop and laugh at the clowns.

These cards are a work of art and the card meanings are wonderful. I love the affirmations given. This is hands down my favorite oracle.

Alana Fairchild's oracle cards are my favourite. I believe this is my fifth deck. I use the cards for daily contemplation. The only reason I took off a star is because of redundant instructions. When a person reads a card each day, the copy & paste feel creates a dullness of sorts. This is the second edition, but it could use a third version. The artwork and messages on the cards are wonderful.

Oh, and I also wish that the box, guidebook, and back of the cards had different imagery instead of them being the same card (#22 Guest of Honor).

I love the dedication. It really gives you a glimpse into what the deck embodies.

This deck is for those who find it hard to follow rules, conform, bend to authority, and generally 'do what they are told'.

May your rebel heart always be bold.
May your spirit always be free.
May you remember to live the Divine Circus and have fun doing things the ways you aren't supposed to, whilst living your most creative and unique divine destiny.

Quick impressions: This is a 44-card deck with a small companion book. It has an artistic circus theme. Think less Barnum and Bailey and more like harlequins and other European art circus.

Overall, this is a deck I really like for the colorful art and its playfulness. You can use it year round, but it may be a good fall season selection. It could be a nice option for Halloween. I am glad to have it in my collection.
