Jocelyn's world had taken a new turn. She found herself in a dark world of BDSM and was loving it. It wasn't until her surprise visit to see Beth in Berlin that her deepest darkness would be challenged. Her world once again turned upside down by the forces of evil. Do Beth and Jocelyn survive the depraved world they find themselves captured in? Is there a new hero that comes to their rescue or are the mired in a world of slavery?
This is the third installment of the Dark Desire series.
What can I say about Facade's Surrender? The first word that comes to mind is WOW! I didn't realize I wasn't breathing until I read the last page, then I was able to exhale. I was so drawn into the story, I found myself cheering for Jocelyn and booing Devin. I love Jocelyn because she is a fighter, a shero. Also, glad I got a glimpse of Carlisle in Book 3 and an introduction to Stafford, very nice addition to the storyline. This is such a great series, definitely looking forward to Book 4.
Wow. As I write this review I will not tell you about the story, but will tell you this is a very dark series and it will keep you on the edge of your seat wanting more and what will happen next. Enjoy
Wow, what a ride. "Facade's Surrender" is a dark, fast paced thrill ride. The pace of my heart was accelerated from beginning to end and never let up.
Lisette Kristensen has an incredible talent of being able to paint the scene with words so that the readers have vivid images in their head. The author was consistent throughout the book and made sure each scene was well thought in regards to descriptions and characters.
Speaking of characters...I really love how Jocelyn has developed through the book series. I thought Lisette did a phenomenal job with helping the reader not only get into the mind of Jocelyn, but help them understand Jocelyn's state of mind during this book. The mindset of Jocelyn was carefully crafted and cleverly written.
The content, while dark, is actually a breath of fresh air. Although a lot of authors tend to lean on the cautious side of content in this genre, that isn't the case with Ms. Kristensen. Lisette gives her readers what they crave; dark, unfiltered content. It's great to see an author who truly believes in their work and story and not afraid to put something out there.
If you're in the mood for something dark and original, "Facade's Surrender" by Lisette Kristensen should be on your list of reads.
Wow! out of the 3 books I have read so far in this series, this is, by far, the darkest of the lot. I can't wait to read the next instalment, as it has been left on a bit of a cliffhanger. I won't go into too many details, but I can see why it caused so much fuss.
The writing was as solid as ever, and the plot, thick. Jocelyn has got herself into a right pickle this time.
Facade's Surrender is intense, like WOW kind of intense. The events that take place with Beth and Jocelyn are unbelievable I loath Devin and the man he is to allow such events to happen and encourage them. Jocelyn is one tough women there's no doubt about it. I'm curious about Stanford, I hope we get to learn more about him. Although he works for Devin he's not like the others. Heading into the next book now because I NEED to know what happens next.
I actually bought the box set, so all four stories together but I'm leaving separate reviews for each book.
What a thrilling ride, very dark and deliciously sinful. Lisette has created vivid, strong characters that just keep on giving. A breathtakingly good read, I was rooting for Jocelyn and wanted to string up Devin with each page i read. What a callous SOB he is.
