Claude “Gameboy” Spencer and Charles “Big Shot” Benjamin both had their sights set upon taking over the strip club industry in Florida. Both were business savvy and street smart, both had a passionate drive, and both would spare no expense or life to be crowned the King. So in a coldhearted and calculated human chess match the game begins, each man strategically countering each other’s move with a more cunning one of their own. Pawns were unmercifully sacrificed, Bishops played the game with no remorse, Rooks were devilishly minded crooks, Knights went about painting the state with blood, and Queens protected their Kings at all costs.
This is a novel so close to being a real life situation until it’s downright scary and it shows you that life is really no more than a game of chess. In the end there’s only one crown, and upon whose head it shall rest is what you will soon find out as the story unfolds. Based upon the Greco’s Trap chess strategy, you can actually set up the board and actually witness the checkmate that takes place. Never before has there ever been a novel of this magnitude, yet never before has there been an Urban Street Lit author with the vision of King Diamond. So let the game begin…
Author King Diamond treats us to a read that grabs you and just won't let go....I mean, you' ve just got to see how this plays out. It is suggested that you set up a chessboard and follow the storyline by making moves on your board. If you're not inclined to do that, grab an index card or a sheet of paper; then list Big Shot's allies and Gameboy's allies ( sort of like a family tree diagram)....that way you can, at a glance, tell who is winning this sometimes deadly game. Congratulations King Diamond and thanks for sharing your gift. Your readers appreciate you.
This book was so different from the usually urban fiction books with the drug dealers and over night success. I applaud King Diamond for stepping outside the box. To enjoyed this. I'm rooting for Gameboy. Although he is ruthless I feel he is humble, sincere and a good guy. Big shot on the other hand that this untouchable demeanor about him and as we see that ain't true. Can't wait for part two to see who is king of Florida's strip club industry.
