Imagine if you could hear God speak. Imagine if you could sit down and speak to God about a wide range of subjects that are helpful to the Christian faith and have him respond to you.
Matthew Robert Payne did exactly that over the course of a month. He sat down with the subjects covered in his previous book, “Jesus Speaking Today,” and asked God to open up about them. What follows is a number of intimate conversations with God.
God shares his heart with Matthew in a way that is raw, honest and candid. Peek inside the pages to see how God speaks to his friend who is interested in hearing his heart. Listen in on these conversations as God gets personal and emotional about the things that matter to him and that should ultimately matter to humanity.
It is Matthew’s hope that this book will encourage you to learn to hear from God for yourself and encourage you to journal what God says to you each day.

This book is like a breath of fresh air filled with the Holy Spirit and Fire! I read book after book and when the Spirit leads you to read it there is a purpose to do so. I also am one that walks people into their destiny. Empowering them to be who God sees them to be in the Kingdom. Thank you Matthew for your obedience. I pray that many read and fall in love and share this book. Thank you Father, thank you Jesus, thank you Holy Spirit.
Amazing book. Such power in the words. It was awesome to hear God speak in such a simple way for us to understand him. I thank God for using Matthew as a hollow vessel!!! Incredible book!!
Some parts resonated with me like the desire of the creator to reach him, through Jesus or directly. That he is a living merciful God who wants us to understand that we are all interconnected, to love each other and give without expectations, specially to help out with an open heart. Also, the fact that no one is perfect and that we can reach out to God to clear our darkness and chose his path of light. What truly bothered me about this book was that he uses the word “obey” from beginning to end practically. That implies that God wants us to obey like a master expect this from his slave. God has given us free will and our creator loves us so much that he sent his own son, the only one to be the Bridge and our salvation; then, the same God want us to “Obey”. To me he wants our unconditional love given freely, our choice to follow him out of love, not as an “Obey my Command”. Also, Jesus was a simple humble man who preached love to the father and to love each other, but the church is very wealthy, the priest wear fine clothes and seat on a chair like a throne, the Vatican is one of the richest institutions, they have created religion to fill their pockets and control the masses, they have even killed innocent people in the name of God with the inquisition and all the corruption that the church tries to hide when innocent kids have been victims. We do not need this church to reach God, it is said that our body is the temple of God for a reason, we can easily reach and talk to him, reach him with an open heart and through our actions, love him by caring and helping each other. Most of this book is to praise the author life choices and to tell us to “Obey” God which to me, I don’t think that word is part of the essence of our creator, if he really want us to “Obey”, he simply has the power to make it so. But I agree with the author that God wants us to seek him and care for each other by good deeds, by what comes out of our mouth, our actions and what truly is inside in our hearts.
Inspiring and so so conversational friendly especially God as a friend and yet all knowi
THX ! I am now a better person and really want to spend time and takes steps to be as close, i really hope and pray that somehow you can get your message of us being so loved, really understood and even helped especially through difficult times out to those that do not know Christ. I know we can't reach everyone, in the world but wow what great messages I understand about kdp and book publishing costs but would suggest a translation or two, maybe Spanish . Ps i try to reach people and families who have had a serious accident, tbi, stroke or other Issue in rehab and care guides. Nothing faith based yet, but your books give me some good ideas for my future work as many of us disabled need hope and need to know we are loved so much. Leonedward.com for my amz niche.
Interesting read, although I feel like having a conversation with God would be a little bit more intellectual, holiness, alongside infinite qualities of knowledge, and presence. Like I was talking to…….Im not sure who. The one chapter that stood out to me more was the one talking about deception, “you don’t always have to be right, it’s okay to leave someone in their deception and pray for love”.
I give 5 stars to all of M.R.P.'s books because of the affect they have on my life. I devour his books and can hardly put them down because of how they take me into the realm of where God lives. My spirit is brought close to Jesus, and it brings a longing in my soul to experience what Matthew experiences. Thank you Matthew for all of your books.
Very easy to read and understand the concept and importance of the message written by Matthew as he shares his experience and conversation he had with God.
I am in awe of this book! I am closer to having experiences like yours than I imagined! I can hear the Lord speak. He told me to preach a sermon on a subject that I KNOW had not been preached before in ANY church that I'd ever been in! I was obedient to Him, scared to death! The result, people made remarks afterwards that they had heard it the week before and was studying because they were unsure and the Lord sent me for conformation! Look at God? If I were not obedient to what I heard the Lord say His people would have gotten deliverance elsewhere! Thank you for letting the Lord use you! We are so similar. Praise to the Most High!
At first, this book did not seem real. How could someone with such a low self-image, full of doubt about God's love and dealing with such deep depression be meeting God daily? It just didn't compute!
In 1 Corinthians 1:27-29 "God has chosen the foolish things of the world to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to shame the things which are strong, and the base things of the world and the despised, God has chosen, the things that are not, that He might nullify the things that are, that no man should boast before God."
So thank you for your honesty Matthew. Thank you for your authenticity about your humanity and your relationship with God. May God strengthen and encourage you. May He open the windows of heaven and pour out His Spirit in greater measure. May you find victory over depression. May you decrease and God increase daily. God bless you, Matthew! ~Lisa
Repetitive, dull and a completely awful attempt to imitate the original "Conversations with God" books. Which I loved reading. I feel genuine remorse for having wasted my time in reading this.
