Never Naughty Enough

Rate this book

She's the perfect executive assistant - or at least she was until she agreed
to be put under hypnosis at a party. Overnight, the very proper Annabelle Scott
turned into a terrible tease. Now she doesn't "do" typing or filing and spends
most of her time wondering which of the naughty items in her wardrobe might do a
good "job" - on her boss.

Wagner Achrom is a sexy workaholic who barely knows that she exists. But she
plans to change all that when she lets down her hair and clues him in to the
fact that, in future, the new "Belle" plans on leaving her most intimate things
where they belong - off! After all, she's learned firsthand that you can never
be naughty enough...

I credit my interest in writing romance to my grandmother. She gave me my first Harlequin to read during the hot summer days I spent on my grandparent's acreage in rural Oklahoma.

Immediately I was hooked!!!

Over the years, I would pick up a pen and write down ideas, but it wasn't until I joined Romance Writers of America and then Oklahoma Romance Writers did I become serious. During that time, I completed eight novels.

The first two will never, ever see the light of day. In fact, I should probably destroy these so no one accidentally reads them! Around my third book, I joined a critique group and began to really study the craft of writing.

From there I entered entered several writing contests. In March 2003, one part of my writing dreams came true when I finaled in the Golden Heart.
In late 2000, I learned I placed Honorable Mention in Harlequin's Blaze contest, and began corresponding with the editor who bought my first book. I also won a writing round robin on eHarlequin, which was loads of fun!

On December 18, 2003, I got "The Call" from Harlequin. Actually, my answering machine received the privilege. My seventh novel, Never Naughty Enough was published as a Harlequin Temptation Heat. My sixth novel, Share the Darkness, will be published in April of 2006

I make my home in Oklahoma (where many of my books are set) with my husband and two children. My hobbies include reading, water aerobics with my mother every morning and watching OU play ball. The least domestic thing I like to do is cook.

I met my then future husband as a freshman at the University of Oklahoma (Go Sooners!!), but we didn't marry until after I received my Master's from Missouri State (Yea Bears!). My husband hero often worked overtime so I could attend RWA's National Conferences. The most romantic thing he ever did was arrange for his parents to watch our children so he could drive me to Houston, Texas for the Emily Awards.

Amusing and entertaining romance
4 stars

Annabelle Scott has always been the perfect executive assistant - punctual, efficient and a hard worker. She's also been hopelessly in love with her boss, Wagner Achrom, for the last four years.

Wagner is so completely enveloped in his work that he has failed to notice how sexy his wonderful assistant really is. That is until Annabelle is put under hypnosis at a party and her deliciously naughty side is brought to life.

Now Wagner is having trouble focussing on anything other than his sexy employee and wondering just how naughty she might turn out to be.

Never Naughty Enough is a fun read and another winner from Jill Monroe. Annabelle is a nice normal girl who gets to unleash her daring and devilish side with the help of some amateur hypnosis. It just goes to show that you can get what you want if you're just a bit naughty! Wagner is a good hero too - sexy and strong and completely shocked when he realises what's been right under his nose the whole time.

Although there was some heat and chemistry in the book - it really was more teasing than scorchingly hot even though the sex scenes were plentiful.

The writing is good, the story keeps you interested and the romance is sweet and fun. Overall, this is a good book to keep you engrossed for a few hours and one I would recommend to those that enjoy entertaining romance stories. 4 stars.

4 Stars! ~ Wagner vowed to himself that he'd never put a woman through what his father did to his mother. His father risked the families financial security on his inventions. Wagner's a risk taker too, and he believes in his father's patents, but until he makes it there will be no woman in his life. Annabelle's father was a scam artist who took the money of innocent people. Now in prison for his deeds, Annabelle has been paying off his debts and is almost there thanks to Wagner's generosity as an employer. Annabelle's been in love with Wagner for years, but because of her father's deeds, she's never allowed herself to be outgoing and take charge. As a party prank, Annabelle agrees to let a young fellow hypnotize her; she scoffs that it can't be done. Well, while under the trance, she given suggestions to go after what she wants. When she wakes up, she's positive that she was hypnotized, but suddenly she has cravings that she can't understand. Wagner can't fathom the changes in his usually shy, efficient secretary; suddenly he can't keep his thoughts focused on the deal of his career, all his thoughts are on the irresistible and delectable Belle.

This is a delightful sensual read. The antics of the new Belle are wonderfully endearing and poor Wagner is no match for her determination. This is Ms Monroe's debut and it is a gem. I look forward to catching up with her again in Blaze.

This book has been in my TBR pile from my Temptation subscription. I'm not sure why I haven't read it earlier, the cover certainly isn't the reason; this hero is yummy Perhaps it was the idea of Annabelle suddenly finding her get go because she was hypnotized. All in all this was a very good read and I look forward to reading more from Ms. Monroe.
