Great debut!

First, I received a copy of this book for free for my honest review.

This is a very good debut novel. Technically speaking, there were very few typos and grammatical errors, which is a huge plus in a debut.

The characters were very real and it was easy to follow along with what they were thinking and going through. The descriptions of the locations, the landmarks, were very vivid, and I could actually see them in my mind. Now, on to the plot....there's a lot I can't say without spoiling the story. I had an internal problem with the ex-patriotism, but could also kind of understand it, which led to my internal conflict. How the main character ended up where he did was a little far fetched, but the fact that it ended the way it did begs the question....is there a sequel? Will this be a series? Is this it? It was disappointing to not have a full and complete ending, not knowing if I'll find out the answers to these questions. I want to read the next one to get answers.

I have continued to think about the situations that were written about, wondering what I would do in the same scenarios. Because of this, I think it is a really good read, and I've already recommended this book to several friends. You should get it, sit back and take in the scenery, the politics, the conflict, and decide for yourself....would you have done the same thing the main character did? Enjoy!!

This is a quick read (198 pages). Read it in a day, got it on kindle edition for $8.99.
I really enjoyed it. It is action-adventure with some history and technology sprinkled on top. The story is set in a city on the island of Puerto Rico, so you get a sense of the history and the culture there as you are following the mysterious plot along.
The plot features twists at every turn with a strong male AND a strong female character at the center of it all. I would recommend it to anyone who likes heroic hacker characters or an entertaining action packed, keep your heart racing, plain fun read.

This is the first time out for author Michael Rodriguez. His characters portray a side of the island of Puerto Rico we're not used to seeing. He intelligently weaves history and cultural folklore into his tale. His use of action and prose kept me involved throughout the whole novel. I would recommend it right away to anyone interested in Hispanic culture, technology and action thrillers

Great storyline

The idea behind the storyline is amazing and definitely fills a gap.

The main character is a complete idiot. He's completely unaware of anything and cannot for the life of him foresee farther than his nose. The main romantic story is utterly unbelievable.

In short, this book is an amazing first draft but it seriously needs to go through and editor and that's not taking into account typos and such.

Is it Adriana or Adrianna? Choose one.

This story has a lot of potential. I hope it gets polished to the best it can be.

Victor Santos teaches Computer Science at a high school in Porto Rico. Suddenly he is blackmailed to support a rebel group's ambitious agenda of overthrowing the government and breaking away from the USA. An added incentive is his infatuation with a beautiful rebel leader, Adrianna Carrion.

Adrianna Carrion is a ranking officer in the Elercito Popular Boricua, a rebel organization ready to fight for their countries independence. But is she loyal to the cause or really a double agent for the USA?

Victor has the one thing the rebel organization needs to succeed. He is a computer genius who doesn't appreciate his own expertise. He is the key player who can unleash the audacious rebel plan to stop the USA before they can be engaged to quell the rebel uprising.

Forgotten Colony is fast paced with an extraordinary number of intense conflicts. Victor is constantly chased, shot at and beaten in his quest to separate the good guys from the bad. With specialized military training, he evolves from a frightened, weak kneed observer to become a full fledged, competent revolutionary with a surprising future before him.

General editing and sentence structure require extensive professional help. There are missing, extra, misspelled and wrong words plus sentence arrangement makes many difficult to understand without a second or third reading. Missing and extra periods are also problematic. These are simple errors that a competent professional editor can easily correct.

Character development for the three main characters is good.
Details are adequate.
In depth research of Porto Rico's history is evident.(or created by the author)
The plot is intriguing and fast paced.
The writing style held my interest but is extremely wordy and often repetitious.
