Rise of Memphis is a sexy, fun read that chronicles the adventures of Jane (aka- Memphis). This original, witty, and funny series by Kitty Kendall has been so much fun to explore- again. I had originally read the series a couple of years ago, and was looking through my books for something quick and easy to read between ‘heavier’ novels, and these books caught my eye- I knew right away that they would be the perfect ‘palate cleanser’.
The series has so much going on, in a good way. Ms. Kendall manages to pack a lot into each book- even though they are such quick and easy reads, each one seems like a much longer novel. There is adventure, mystery, a little drama, kinky and erotic encounters, wonderful characters, depth, emotion, self-discovery, sexual awakening, heartache, friendship, passion, intrigue… and much more.
Jane Nichols has been unlucky in love- having her heart broken she moves thousands of miles away to start over, working as a night manager at a hotel, on the beach in a tropical paradise. Her ex’s betrayal has left her wary, and her self-esteem has taken a severe battering- she’s not interested in, or ready for a serious relationship- and her job doesn’t leave her much time for romance anyway- but she wouldn’t mind a fling or two, just to ‘get back in the saddle’. But for that to happen, Jane will need to take matters into her own hands and get a little creative. So begins her erotic adventure, donning a sexy disguise, becoming “Memphis’, and using her hotel to find her ‘targets’, and also becoming a base for her erotic encounters. One tryst leads to another, and with each one Janes confidence grows- and each encounter seems to be hotter than the last. Jane chronicles her adventures in her journal, as we get a front row seat to her escapades. This becomes somewhat of a unique type therapy, not just for her, but for many of the men as well. Will her double life unravel? She risks being exposed, and her job is on the line. How will everything play out? Will she find the man of her dreams along the way?
52 men in 52 weeks leaves plenty of room for fun, a few disasters, crazy encounters, HOT trysts, euphoric highs, and some heartbreaking lows. This series is set over 12 books and follows along as Memphis meets a lot of sexy hunks- from a cowboy, to a chef, a musician, to an artist, a doctor, a yoga expert, a computer programmer, and a brewer- who are just a few of the men who catch her eye.
If you are looking for a quick, fun, sexy and captivating read- with wonderful characters, emotion, and depth- then this is the series for you!

Thank you, Ms. Kendall!

August is a month full of news for Jane, she has new experiences with a bass player, a wedding planner and a firefighter (extremely hot!). She has a real meeting with her dear tutor, Henry. And also her first smack down, which almost puts her at risk of being discovered by her boss, Needledick.
This story keeps getting better! I'm anxious to get to the end and see what will happen to Jane.

This could be the rise of a world-wide female phenomenon!

I truly love this serial. It's beautiful, warm, emotional, deeply sensual and fun as an amusement park ride.

In her 52-week challenge to explore her carnal boundaries, Memphis is increasingly daring. And Jane, not so plain anymore, has a few brushes with danger in this episode as well as a lot of soul searching. I like her thoughts, how she ponders her double life and the ways it's affecting her present and her future. As always, her friend Lolita is her crazy confidante and you can count on her for full support and fantastic guidance.

If Jane's contact with her past is fulfilled, I think it will be a very interesting rest of the year. Her family continue to baffle me! On the other hand, I hope her brave encounters don't derail and throw her to the curb.

Personally, I'm thrilled that Henry, her suave tutor, has made another scorching-hot appearance. He's one of my favourites and I think I love him a little :-D Don't tell that to the firemen, please! On second thought, could the firemen come back and finish the deed? Double deed? OMG, I'm going crazy myself now :-D

First, and as always, many thanks to the author, who provided a free copy of the August Chronicles in exchange for an honest review.

A reluctant bass player and a harried wedding planner are both beneficiaries of Memphis’ unique form of relaxation therapy in this month’s edition of Jane’s adventures. We also see some progress with a favorite repeat offender; I’m enjoying the progression of their encounters.

Memphis also suffers her first rejection this month - I’m rather surprised that it hadn’t happened all ready. I’ve also been rather surprised that Jane has managed to keep her goal every week; this is a busy hotel, indeed! Also, that’s how we know it’s fiction, right? What I enjoyed about Memphis’ strike out (and Jane’s subsequent home run) is the fact that Jane was completely oblivious as to why. The man had been responding to her, as herself, Jane. When Memphis turned up at his door, his reactions did a complete about face. I’m wondering if before the end of this challenge Jane will feel comfortable enough to throw off the Memphis disguise all together. That is, if she can manage to stay one step ahead of her manager!

I received this ARC in exchange for my honest review. I just love this series. Kitty just keeps out doing herself with each chronicle that she writes. I so can't wait to see what happens next month. Will Memphis finally cause Jane to get in to trouble on the job? Will Jane finally find her true love and forever soul mate? I can't wait to see what surprises come next for Memphis!! I just couldn't put it down once I started reading it.

I love this series, but I was waiting for one thing to happen...and in August it did. I can't say what it was, cause it would spoil it for you, but...needless to day there is a surprise this month. In addition to the surprise, Jane spends some quality time with one of her suitors. It's a very hot experience...but my hear is saying no...don't choose him...
In a nutshell--you gotta read this series...it's addicting!

August was hot!!! Jane never ceases to amaze me. She experiences self doubt this month but takes it in stride as her alter ego Memphis only does. The best part of the month is Henry. Henry calls and enters for a true date!!! Jane opens up more to Henry and learns more about herself. So hot and absolutely titillating!

Once again Jane/Memphis doesn't disappoint! August is a weird month for Jane, she is turned down by someone she thought wad flirting with her, had a hot time in an elevator with a fireman and Henry keeps showing up when Jane needs a confidence boost. Thanks Ms Kendall for an original, witty and hot series!
