In book one of Soldiers Steel Cages: All Roxanne (Roxy) Leveare wanted after a hard day’s work was to stop at her favorite bar Jack’s, order a beer and enjoy some wings. Meeting an old friend was not on the menu. Braydon Lionhart, active duty Army Drill Sergeant, couldn’t believe the nine-year-old with pigtails and braces, who followed him and her brother everywhere, could be the hot, sexy and totally adorable blonde beauty who sat at the bar eating wings and licking her fingers. A heat ignited in him at the sight of her. Animal lovers, Braydon and Roxy, save an American Pit Bull from near death, bringing them closer together. They both knew going in that when Braydon left the land of 10,000 lakes to return to his work, passion, and life, their time together would end. What they hadn’t counted on was the possibility that deceit, honor, and lies would tear them apart before they had a chance to start.
This is the first book that I've read by Lanna Farrell. It was amazing. I really enjoyed the strength of the main character Roxy. She was awesome. Likeable and loveable with a tough edge to her. Braydon was the perfect match for her once they grew up and found out who they were. Add adorable puppies into the mix and you have a surefire hit. Roxy is a tough edged vet who has loved Army sergeant Braydon since she was in pigtails. After alot of ups and downs in both of their lives they finally find the life they deserve together. I loved the setting of the book, it really made it real in my mind as I could envision the surroundings bringing the book to life. I also loved the animal rescue part of the book. Hopefully it helps raise awareness. Thanks Lanna for the great read.
