It was years ago when I used to pick on the sort-of-ugly girl that lived across the street from me. She was smart though. She got out of town. Me? I stayed. I'm patched into the Bitter Aces MC and we rule the town of Bishop. Nothing or nobody stands in our way.
When I hear the rumor that Willow's back in town to care for her ailing grandmother, I need to see it to believe it. The girl next door is now a beautiful woman and she needs a man. I agree to take care of her when she needs me, just as long as she doesn't get attached.
Old feelings quickly kick up and before I know it, I'm in a blazing inferno of lust... and just when I least expect it, Willow needs me to save her more than ever before.
Jaxson Kidman has outdone himself again! Renegade Fire is an intense, raw, gritty, consuming, captivating, and unforgettable second chance romance that tells a story of love and pain, fate and circumstance, forgiveness and hope. It's a story about two broken, flawed people searching for the impossible... a love strong enough to put the pieces of their broken hearts back together. Hot, emotional... keeps you turning the pages.
I received an ARC of this book for an honest review.
Oh, Jaxson with this being only your second book, you smashed it out of the freakin’ park!! This is one hot, heart tugging, biker book with a little humor thrown in at the right time. The backstory for Gage and Willow would crush you at times and at other times make you pissed as all get out. These two grew up across the street from one another and both did not have a good home life. The only saving grace for Willow was she was lucky enough to have a grandmother who loved her and was more than willing to step up to take care of her. Little did Willow know that in later years she would be taking care of her grandmother which is what brought her back to town a grown woman. Remembering what her grandmother told her when she was little was that boys that pick on you usually like you. If that was the case then Gage must have loved Willow back when they were growing up because he was relentless with picking on her. But then again what would Gage know about how to treat anyone when he grew up in a household where if his mom and dad weren’t physically abusing each other they were abusing him.
Gage can’t believe it when he’s told that Willow is back in town because he thought when she left that was it. During this time Gage moved up in the MC and became third man from the top and he was living the true outlaw biker lifestyle. Willow was home dealing with her grandmother’s Alzheimer’s and left over feelings for Gage. There is such a fine line between love and hate and Gage and Willow were finding that out. Would these two actually find their way to each other or is Willow living with scars from all the things Gage had done and said to her over the years? Plus look at the lifestyle that Gage was now involved in; it wasn’t for the faint of heart so would Willow even want to be involved with an outlaw biker? This was an awesome biker book and Jaxson writes with making it easy for you to get a real picture as to what he wants to tell you. I cannot wait to see what book number three will be like because Mr. Kidman is off to a killer start!
This book was provided as an ARC from the author for an honest review.
This is only the second book by this author, and I must say it was amazing. I love MC books. This is the story of Gage and Willow, who stayed next to each other when they were young. There is a fine line between love and hate, and these two are a fine example. Gage spent his youth tormenting Willow, and she is convinced she hates him as much as he appears to hate her. After leaving town, Willow returns to look after her ailing Grandma. While on a night out she meets Gage again in a bar. No more spoilers from me, but do yourself a favour, and don’t miss out on this fab read. This is a wonderful story and so well written. Cannot recommend Jaxon’s work enough, and in my opinion it is worth so much more that the 5 star review. Cannot wait to read more from this talented author in the future! I received an ARC for an honest review.
Well, if you are looking for action and grit and angst, this is certainly not the book for you! This was a super sweet and pretty quick read. The writing was pretty good and even though the book did continuously flip between the present and past which normally annoys me, I did enjoy the story. Overall, not a bad read, but not a lot of depth either.
Really great book. Alpha biker gets his second chance to have the girl he always wanted. Scared girl, gets the man who as a child tormented her. Great story, great characters and some wicked heat!!
This book felt really short and was a quick, sweet read.
Boy meets girl when they are kids. Boy is horrid to girl; girl leaves town and returns when her grandmother becomes ill. Boy still loves girl and in a very short time, tells her so. Boy breaks a few heads but it was all incidental to the story. There wasn't a great deal of depth but it was an easy read.
You REALLY wanna hate Gage. And you do try. And so does Willow. She's every little girl who got picked on by that one boy ... You remember him. The one who pulled your hair in third grade, yeah that's him. Ever wonder what would have happened if he turned out to be a ... Sorry. Gotta read it for yourself. Happy Reading.
From a young girl's crush to a deep love Willow has always tried to be there for him. From her tormentor to her protector Gage has always watched over her. A sweet, hot love story many years in the making. Very enjoyable.
I chose to read and review this book. I enjoyed this book. It is well written and the flow is great between characters and chapters. It is a badass sexy alpha with his woman. The emotions are wonderful. Suspense thrill fear and steamy heat. I recommend this one.
In this newest book by Jaxson Kidman, you have bad boy Gage, a member of the Bitter Aces MC. He grew up with crappy parents, and the only thing that ever brought him any kind of happiness was picking on his neighbor across the street, Willow. He picked on her like little boys with a crush will do, but Willow always though of him as a bully. Willow moved away, but now she's back in town to take care of ailing grandmother. Willow is not the little girl Gage remembers--now, she's all woman, and Gage doesn't want to let her escape again.
Willow is deeply saddened that the woman that pretty much raised her, is now suffering the fast affects of Alzheimer's. She wants to do everything she can in order to help the woman that helped her. But when she runs into Gage one night out with a friend, memories come rushing back, as well as hidden feelings. Even though she was always bullied by Gage, she can't help the crush she always had on him. Now that cute boy has turned into a man, and she's not sure if she can keep him at bay while she deals with her grandmother, or if she would even want to.
Old habits die hard when Gage and Willow start interacting with each other again, but this time around Gage is quicker to apologize and also to let Willow know how he feels. But Willow has been hurt by Gage one too many times--will she risk allowing him to hurt her again?
Two main characters are a little different compared to Jaxson's first book. While the environment they grow up in is similar, Willow grows up with Gage constantly picking on her, whereas in Hard Knox, Ana was always loved and protected by Knox. The drama in this book revolves around not only Willow and Gage's tumultuous relationship, but also around Willow's grandmother. Willow is constantly under stress worrying about her grandmother and how her Alzheimer's is rapidly stripping away her memories. Willow has so many hard decisions to try and make, and it's even worse when she feels all alone. Will Gage finally be the man he was meant to be, or will he continue to show his feelings by pushing her away? Another great read from Jaxson!

Gage always bullied Willow, maybe because he liked her or maybe because he was an ass. Willow assumed it was the latter of the two. Willow grows up and leaves town but not before Gage has a chance to say goodbye. Life goes on and Gage gets patched into the Bitter Aces MC. Without the MC's protection, their little town would be worse off than it already was, so Gage found his purpose. Willow returns to take care of her ailing grandmother. Old feelings and memories tend to open up like a can of worms, and that's just what happens. Gage and Willow grew up on the wrong side of the tracks, but instead of having solidarity towards each other, they only had contempt. Or so it seemed. Gage mercilessly picked on Willow. He was dangerous to her heart, back then, now he was just dangerous. She didn't heed that warning. Gage knew what he wanted, back when he was younger. He also knew what he was, dirt poor and just a punk kid. Now he's older. He knows who he is and what he wants. He isn't about to stop until he gets it. He wants more. Does he deserve it? He'll no, but that won't keep him from going after it. Will she be willing to give into him? Well, that remains to be seen. Soon he's breaking all his rules where Willow is concerned. Yeah, he definitely wants more. This was true storytelling at its best, like a friend giving you the play by play ! I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT ! I DEFINITELY NEED MORE ! THIS OUTLAW BIKER WAS SEXY AND HOT AND ALPHA ! HIS WOMAN WAS SEXY AND SMART AND HAD A HOLD ON HIM LIKE THERE WAS NO TOMORROW ! The characters were amazing and the storyline was awesome ! THE SEX ? ? HOLY HELL....HOT & DIRTY AND LOTS OF IT ! ! ! JAXSON DID NOT DISAPPOINT ! ! !

This is the first i have ever read of Jaxson Kidman and i have to say that i was impressed and will definetely read him again! I really loved the hate/love relationship between the main characters and how each one of them dealt with pain, love, loss and the in between emotions. I also liked the MC...it seems promising but we didn't get to see much about it. The book sucked me into its pages right away and i really liked its flow but at moments i felt the author lost track of what he wanted to happen. I wanted to see more of the MC life and i wanted to see more of the built up of the relationship. Some times he over focused on Grammie's illness and we lost focus of the whole MC-love story and other times he focused much on their background story and we lost the now. Overall the story was great and its only the second book by the aythor and i would totally want to see more of his writing and more of his MC.

Years ago Gage use to pick on the girl that lived across the street from him. Willow however left town while Gage stayed and patched in with the Bitter Aces MC.They rule the town of Bishop. When Gage hears that Willow is back in town to care for her sick grandmother he needs to see her. Shocked at how beautiful and grown up the awkward girl next door has grown into Gage agrees to be the man to take care of her as long as she doesn't get attached. Old feeling quickly resurface for Gage and before he knows it he's a blazing inferno of list and when he least expects it Willow needs him to save her more than ever before.
To say that Gage was cruel to Williow when they were kids is probably and understatement. He was a holy terror and not nice to her at all ever. Alzheimer Disease has brought Williow back to town and away from her own life to care for her grandmother. When Willow sees Gage she knows she should stay away but Gage is determined not to let her. Gage being a biker and trying to make ammends lead to sow,me tertiaries moments in this book. Bikers aren't known to be all fluff at all. This is a second chance romance that will suck you end and have you turning the pages till the very end. The characters are enjoyable ans the only thing that kept it from being five stars for me was I felt like the focus was pulled away from the main story at times. For example to much past and you'd lose focus of the future.
This was my first time reading a book written by Jaxson Kidman. It won't be my last though and I look forward to seeing what he writes next.
I enjoyed this story. Jaxson writes some great characters that aren't perfect but make you feel for them. Gage and Willow grew up across the street together and while they never really seemed to be on good terms, or stay that way for very long, they were always connected and drawn to each other. Willow left town and Gage wanted her to get out, so never really made a move but now she is back to take care of her grandmother and Gage isn't going to just let the opportunity by. He's an outlaw biker and loves his MC. Gage makes her an offer that all she has to do is call and he'll come take care of her sexual needs. That might be how it started, at least on the surface, but they both have more feelings than that. This story jumps from past to present but I didn't have a problem following along this time. I was able to place where we were at on the timeline without trouble this time. If you read Jaxson Kidman's first book and had a problem, this one is much easier to follow. The sex is hot and explicit and dirty (in a good way). There is a story and it draws you in, but the sex plays a major role in the story. I enjoyed it and it was a pretty quick read for me. I enjoyed the characters and they made the story for me. I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
I didn't know it when I got it, but Renegade Fire has one of my favorite tropes in it! I love the whole love/hate relationships where the hero can be a little bit of a bully, but there's more to him than just that and Gage definitely fit that bill. Renegade Fire was a great read and I really enjoyed it!
Gage and Willow are an awesome pair! Willow's sweet and compassionate but also strong and brave. She's kind and true and just has a good heart. Gage definitely has his jerk moments but he's sweet, thoughtful, and caring too. He's the bad boy who's a marshmallow when it comes to his girl and I loved him for it!
One of the things that I really loved about Renegade Fire was that although Gage is in an MC, the book itself focuses more on Gage and Willow's relationship than all the MC drama. Now don't get me wrong, I love all that drama, but every once in awhile, it's nice to have it just rest on the back burner while the love story takes the spotlight. It was just a lovely but dirty, raw, sexy tale and I'm so glad I got to know it!
Renegade Fire is a standalone, it's told from Willow and Gage's POV, and their happy ending will put a smile on your face and melt your heart!
I like this book just like I thought it was better than the last one.
The only thing I didn't like is that just like the last book the heroine wasn't an educated woman. Don't get me wrong I'm not hating on it I know life is hard and not everyone can get an education. I just think that it was unfortunate that she got out of town to be a nurse and didn't make it. I just wanted to know what happened to her.
I know there's nothing wrong with the hero taking care of her I just think it would have been nice if she had been an independent woman falling in love with an outlaw. I think that's sexier and unexpected.
Moving on from that, the book was pretty good if you like the past and future transitions and characters that were "in love" since forever. Now that I'm talking about the past and future transitions this book was better than the last one it was less confusing and it make more sense.
Like I said in my review of Hard Knox this author it's only going to get better. It proves it with this novella and I'm sure his going to keep proving me right on the future.
Gage has a lot to redeem himself for in regards to Willow. Her terrorized her as a child and was not very nice to her the last time they spoke. Willow left town to start a new life but gets sucked back home when her Grammie becomes diagnosed with Alzheimer's Disease. Willow sees Gage and knows she should stay away but he makes in almost impossible. Gage knows he has to make amends and be there for Willow this time so he sets about trying to do that while also trying to keep his MC from getting walked all over by a rival entity. Gage does go about things in a biker kind of way which made this story somewhat fun to read. Willow did seem to have a hard life and didn't quite understand all of the bad ways her mother treated her when she was a child. Her grandmother stepped in and did the best she could and it was nice to see Willow appreciate that enough to move back home to care for her. I did like how Willow decided to tread carefully with Gage and did get him back for some of his past shenanigans. A quick read and not a bad way to spend a couple of hours.
So Willow has returned to town to carefor her grandmother who is suffering from alzheimers, but the last thing she ever expected was to be reunited with Gage. Gage and Willow grew up accross the street from one another and had terrible home lives. Gages parents abused him not only physically but emotionally as well, and poor Willow lived with a drunk of a mother who basically didn't realize she had a daughter, but with saying that Willow still grew up to be kind and loving all in thanks to her grandmother. Gage forever picked on Willow and was cruel, but you know that saying that boys did that sort of stuff because they really liked you, well that was definitly the case here. Gage had a terrble childhood but found his niche with the MC, but when he here's that Willow has returned after basically pushing her out of town so she could have a better life he cannot stay away from her this time. This is a good read, it is gritty, love and had me cheering this couple on.
As far as I'm concerned, this book is a work in progress. So I'm not going to review it too harshly. There are some... for lack of a better word... typical aspects to this story. Boy likes girl, girl likes boy Boy is a total and complete jerk to girl so she never knows. Boy thinks he's Billy-badass so has a hard time acting otherwise. Except this guy IS Billy-badass... He has to be which makes crossing the threshold all the harder in his case THAT was what kept me reading. Otherwise, I would have probably seen the first chapter with the character who's POV it was named as a COMMON now, time labeled as 'THEN and NOW' instead of telling me an age to work with and making me guess and well... closed the book, tossed it as far away as I could and never given it a second thought. Blessedly, this book is beyond the superficial. Who can not love an Outlaw with a heart of gold?
I was given this ARC in exchange for my honest review.
I loved Gage and Willow's story! There was so much content in this beautiful short story about the bad boy next door picking on the neighborhood girl while growing up. I had to laugh out loud whenever the gum incident was mentioned. That was just fun. As adults, Gage is still a bad boy, but in an MC club, and with Willow coming back to town, things heat up. I enjoyed seeing the tenderness of a really bad guy as Gage was helping Willow. It breaks your heart a bit when you see how they grew up, but it also is uplifting to see how well they charge forward and not let life get them down. And let's not forget, the sex was just HOT! Anywhere and anyway! Who doesn't love a story of a hot guy and the woman that tames him with a HEA! If you love bad boys and hot sex, "Renegade Fire" is a must have on your reading list or bookshelf! I would like to thank Jaxson Kidman for gifting me with a copy of "Renegade Fire" and asking me for my honest opinion. This is mine. 4.25 Stars!
***Received a copy from the author in exchange for an honest and I mean honest review *** This is the first time reading a novel by this author. The story covers Gage and Willow difficult relationship growing up as neighbors with Gage being a bully, always picking on Willow. After years had passed Willow retuned to town to take care of her Grammie and Gage had joined the Bitter Aces MC, therefore heard of her return from one of his MC brother (Gunner). I don't feel like we got to witness enough of the relationship buildup to make me invested in the couple due to the constant bickering or much of the MC business which produce confusion initially. We get a lot of their childhood flashbacks interspersed in the story with present-day chapters and it touch on a sensitive subject( Alzheimer's). Overall, a nice read!
Growing up on the wrong side of the tracks, neither Gage nor Willow had much. Gage's parents fought all the time and Gage's father was quick to take his anger out on him. Willow's mom was an alcoholic who basically ignored her. Willow's Grammie was her only saving grace. Although Willow had a crush on Gage, he picked on her and made her cry often. When she was old enough, Willow left town. Now she's back to take care of her ailing grandmother and Gage can't seem to stay away.
Renegade Fire is a pretty fast read and is told from dual POVs. We are given snippets of events that happened in the past to provide us insight into the relationship Willow and Gage shared growing up. I enjoyed watching the badass biker fall to his knees with the feelings his old neighbor awoke in him with her return to town.
Renegade Fire is a gritty look at the lives of Gage and Willow examining their early life and the forces that shaped them. Gage has never left town; his parents though they were there in the home, they were abusive and absent emotionally. He wasn't good in school but found he had a knack for repairing motorcycles and was invited to join the local MC and moved up in the ranks. Willow graduated high school and left town as soon as she could. Her father left when she was young and her mother took to drink. Willow's Grammie stepped in and when Willow's mother drank herself to death, Grammie reared Willow. Gage lived across the street Willow and for as long as they both could remember, Gage bullied Willow. Now Grammie has Alzheimer's and Willow has returned home to care for the woman who cared for her for so long. When Gage hears the news that Willow is back, he can't stay away.
FANTASTIC SECOND CHANCE LOVE Gage and Willow grew up on the wrong side of town, both with difficult family situations, living across the street from each other. Gage was always picking on her which really hurt her because she really liked him. Her Grammie always told her he picked on her because he liked her. She moves away and then years later she comes home to take care of her Grammie. They discover they both still have feelings for each other. I love that the story was told from both Gage and Willow's points of view. It always adds so much more to the story. I really enjoyed this book and look forward to more from this author. I received this book as a gift for an honest review. Patsy Sacco
