The Inside Veer is the most explosive play in football. It offers three potential ball carriers attacking three separate areas of the defense. By doing so it threatens the defense all the way to the sideline. Coaching the Inside Veer breaks down the essential skills that each player must master and gives drills that will teach these skills. The book also highlights the adjustments modern defenses are using to stop the Inside Veer and how to exploit these adjustments. Clean Coaching looks to provide coaches with the essential information about their sport. At Clean Coaching we focus on providing a product that is quick, clean and concise with all of the information that coaches need but none of the fluff and filler material that drive prices up.
My name is David Weitz, I am a teacher and football coach at Hamilton Southeastern High School in Fishers, IN.
I'm lucky in that I am one of the few people who knew exactly what they wanted to do with their life by 3rd grade. I knew that I wanted to be a teacher and a football coach and I've been lucky enough to land my dream job.
I have a long history of coaching both rugby and football going all the way back to when I was in High School. While in High School I helped to create a youth rugby program in Indianapolis. This team started with one team of about 12 kids and has expanded to include over 100 kids. I continued to coach in this program throughout College. In addition to coaching this rugby team, I also coached football at Bloomington High School North and was a part of the school's first Semi-State Appearance.
After college, I wanted to experience playing rugby at a high level and moved to Hawkes Bay New Zealand. While in New Zealand I taught and coached rugby at Hastings Boys High School and played for Havelock North. During this time I completed the training for my IRB Level 2 Coaching Certification.
After a little over two years in New Zealand I moved back to America and resumed my football coaching career. Over the next 6 years, I coached at both Lawrence Central (for 1 year) and Warren Central where I was able to be a part of 2 State Championship Teams. At these schools, I held a variety of different positions on both the offensive and defensive side of the ball and was the Special Teams Coordinator. All of these experiences have helped me to develop for my current role as Offensive Coordinator at Hamilton Southeastern HS.
Throughout my coaching and teaching career, I have used writing as a way to help me work through my coaching philosophies. If you want to truly master your teaching philosophy and coaching process I have found the writing is the best tool. I attempt to give my readers a clear, and concise, picture of our philosophies and schemes without any extra fluff that many companies use to pad the page numbers of their books.
I always love to chat about football or rugby and would love the opportunity to connect with you. Twitter is probably the best way to reach me, I look forward to hearing from you!
