This book should actually be given a ten star rating. I have a rule, typically if a book gets me emotional or *gasp* makes me cry, then it gets 5 stars. This one had me in tears for a good portion. Ms Sasson sure does know how to wring out the emotion in you. Her characters are so real and filled with feeling that you can't help but hurt when they hurt and be happy when they are happy. This one deals with a past death of a child, so being a mom that definitely grabbed me by the heartstrings and tugged, no, make that ripped my heart out. But it was done beautifully and the romance was so much sweeter because of it. Read this in one sitting it was so good. Very nicely done!
So predictable, cliche-plot. But, I enjoyed it. The characters are intriguing, the storyline was good and well-written, as well as the dialogue. Basically, the whole story delves into traumas and healing. (cliche isn't it?) Yet the storyline and preface is promising.
I love how the story shows how women in the medical field deserve more recognition, they're strong and resilient like in the whole aspect. Grief is prominent here, like PTSD is so real. TRULY HEARTWARMING; couldn't be more happier for the main character she really deserves healing and happiness.
For Maria (2nd female lead) MY SHAYLAAAAA, so yeah, I am more invested in her story than in anyone else in the book, how she portrayed as the other woman and hurt her so baddddddd just because of the man that just enter her life unsure to her and still in love with her(almost) ex-wife the redeeming factor was the ending just basically focus on her happy ending which is made smile and glad that it was written that way.

Part of State of the Union series, this story focuses on Dr. Anna Atao and her continuing grief at the loss of her baby. She deserts her husband on Guam, where she met and married him, for a variety of remote and dangerous settings requiring her medical skills. But she can't divest herself of her guilt at having contributed to her son's death.
Nico Atao still loves Anna and wants her back, but getting her to agree to live on Guam is no easy task and the bulk of the story occurs as each of them attempts to bring the island back after a devastating hurricane and tsunami and yet other disasters.
They finally come to an agreement each of them can accept, not one that I had anticipated.
