Crossing the Moss Line

5th Annual Beverly Hills International Book Awards - Regional Fiction category

BookLife Shelf Unbound 2016 Best Indie Book - Southeast Region Set in the early 40s, Crossing the Moss Line is a tragicomedy about slippery choices and unintended consequences reaching from the Geechee community along the Georgia coast to New York City and back. When a practical joke goes wrong, it takes God, the conjure man, a Jewish mother, and an assortment of uniquely Southern characters to set things right again. The tale is told with drama, authentic dialogue, and a touch of slightly wicked humor.

A barrier island almost fairy tale. Perfect for a day you are stuck in because of weather. All the characters end up getting their dream. The bad guy becomes a hero

I loved this tale! Because I have been to many of the barrier islands off the coast of Georgia, I appreciate the stories that the island and the people who have called it home have to tell! This one was a fun read because of the setting (and the setting shifts)...and because of the characters. Grace Hawthorne has a way with storytelling and dialog. I enjoyed it!
