Everyone knows his name. Everyone recognizes his face. But how much do you really know about Albert Einstein?
There are legends about his childhood, about how he was slow to speak and failed in math, but is that really true? His adult life is filled with just as many famous stories, including how he encouraged the construction of the world’s first atomic bomb and was a notorious ladies’ man. Despite being one of history’s most famous people, there are still new things we are learning about Albert Einstein.
By reading this book, you will learn more about Einstein’s early life, including his hatred of traditional school environments, his first loves, and intellectual rebellion. Then comes the “miracle year,” where Einstein released five ground-breaking papers in rapid-fire succession, jumpstarting his career from a patent office clerk to professor. His newfound fame took Einstein to America where he would eventually become a citizen to escape Nazi Germany. But was he secretly a Communist? And what about Einstein's spiritual side? Was he an atheist? A Zionist? A Christian? He has been called all of those and more but none of them are entirely accurate.
This is a brief overview of Einstein for those who want an outline of his life, his contributions, his failures, his beliefs. I give it a solid 4 star rating, as it was just what I was looking for in an overview of his life.
Einstein: Famous Scientist, Committed Pacifist, And Timeless Genius; The True Historical Biography Of The World's Greatest Thinker by Florian Hewitt is a biography about Albert Einstein. It goes throughout the whole of the scientist's life and issues. Starting from a little boy in Ulm, Germany to his first paper, to the Theory of Relativity, the nuclear bomb research and so on. This book shows the full of Albert Einsteins personality, through diaries, files and other resources from people who interacted with the genius.
The primary conflict in the novel is the conflict between him and other scientists over different theories. Niels Bohr, Max Born, and Werner Heisenberg were often some of the scientists Einstein disagreed with. When Einstein came up with the Theory of Relativity, scientists disagreed with him they said the theory violated some of Newtons laws. Because of his theories, scientists fought over certain ideas. This lead to Einstein having a lot of enemies in the world of science.
This was an okay book. It did a good job of detailing Einsteins life, (it was a very long book), but often times it said something like this: "Lets take a step back and explain..." It was almost like the author forgot about something she was going to write. It was good on the facts and information, though it was poorly written. 3 stars for sake of the facts.
A good fast read and summary of the life of Albert Einstein. I am not an expert in his life and studies, so I did learn things from this book. I was left wanting to learn more, but it was a worthwhile and somewhat short read.
I enjoyed reading this book but I had to keep reminding myself that this is a *short* summary of Einstein's personal and work life. Got to read the kindle version for free. The author has condensed the information as much as possible and did so quite successfully although I was left wanting for more at the end of every small chapter. To me, this book read more like a really nice magazine article. Fun read nonetheless.
Einstein: Famous Scientist, Committed Pacifist, And Timeless Genius; It is a True Historical Biography Of The World's Greatest Thinker well researched and dwelt aptly for the readers... Quite an insight into the genius personal lifestyle.
