I love the concept of introducing kids to native animals in this way, but the prose is clumsy and the illustrations not-so-great (the page with the family at the end kind of scares us, haha). It would probably be one star except my toddler goes through phases where she enjoys it, so it gets an extra point for that.

This book helps people foster critical appreciation of our animal brethren. Refreshingly authentic opposed to many commercially successful kids books.
