I received this book from Goodreads First Reads in exchange for an honest review...

This is a very short book (or "novella") was interesting and very unique. It was easy to get into, but as just as easy to get out of as well. Though decently good, I couldn't quiet get into the author's writing style. The sentences were short and choppy, the details kept to a minimum, and she did very little to give the characters depth. She intwined poems throughout the story as well, which were good but also threw everything off. Half-way through, I felt like this book was repetitive and dull.

I LOVED this book! The author eased you (the reader) into each setting such that you could almost imagine that you were seeing and feeling exactly what the characters were seeing and feeling at that moment. It is a short book, but it gives you plenty of information to know that you want to read more from this author. Thank goodness there are two more parts coming! I can't wait to read more from Brenda Jones!

Interesting to read about the main character living in both dreams and reality. The poems made the novella more fun to read.
