一本很全面的書
簡單明瞭
讀了馬上就能抓住威尼斯人
"商業即政事，國家如公司"的要旨
讀完更能理解黃仁宇在"資本主義宇廿一世紀"中對威尼斯的描述，還有為什麼他要把威尼斯放在第一章來說明資本主義的要義了，對我來說，能夠互相輝映就是最大的收穫了

I read this fabulous book in Korean not Japanese (unfortunately). Provides a captivating account of the origins and the ascent of the Republic of Venice. One can regard this work as heavily influenced by Edward Gibbon's writings, namely the "Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire." Note that the title of this book in English can be roughly translated as " the City of the Sea: a story."
