Very little is known about Peter Bruegel, an artist very much ahead of his time. Instead of focusing on wealthy lords, ladies, or typical religious imagines that were popular in Europe during the 1500's, Brugel centered his paintings on rural life and the poor. John Malam did a nice job of telling a bit about this mysterious and varied artist, for young readers interested in learning about art.
