Parallel biographies of two women who used their journalistic skills to fight against unjust treatment based on sex and race in late nineteenth- and early twentieth-century America.
I was really excited when I picked this book up because I thought it had brief bios and excerpts from things Nellie Bly and Ida B Wells had written. NOPE. This is a bit more detailed and adult than a children's biography (remember reading those in 2nd grade and being confused in 7th grade history bc of them?) I am now on the search for biographies on these women who deserve so much more than just this glossy book.
