I was given this book as a gift and thoroughly enjoyed it. The notes, vocabulary, and editing made the chapters great for a quick morning read. The variety and uniqueness of some of the selections really knocked it out of the park for me. In particular i found the selections on the conjoined twins terrifying and the selections fro De Animalibus utterly ridiculous. I enjoyed it enough to seek out older editions of Gesta Romanorum and Albertus Magnus on the net after I finished.
