I read this book along with other cross stitch books, since I'm new to this hobby, and was actually fascinated to read the brief history of cross stitch. Or at least its beginnings. These are cute easy patterns and the illustrations for instruction are well done and easy to follow.
Another cross stitch book in my collection. This one is by a British publisher, so it's sometimes more tricky when you try to find supplies to make the projects (since they recommend supplies that only come from the U.K. or Europe, for the most part), however, you can generally adapt pretty easily. This is a book that has a handful of things I'd make, and the rest don't interest me. That happens a lot in crafting books--but it's still a worthwhile resource and the colors are generally nice on the various stitching projects.
This book has a good collection of alphabet styles and sampler projects. Many of the projects are relatively short and simple patterns for the beginner. Many of the designs involve the sun, moon, or stars which I’m not interested in, but I would make most of the projects.
