Erotika: Bedtime Stories

Rate this book
Stories is the first anthology from Sensorotika Press, and it is a work of short fiction painted in lush erotic strokes. Like a musical interlude, each story weaves its own rhythm into a final, beautiful symphony. Enticing and frisky, these stories range from the adventurous to the deeply sensual, including the lilting "Ghosts of Virginia" from Gwen Masters, where love is lost but passion found, "Let It Snow", a story of the heat of winter lust, "Willpower on the Water", a story of restraint and satisfying release, and "The Fruits of Mark's Confession", a tale only told among two close friends. These short stories will be sure to engage, arouse and raise your expectations of erotic fiction.

Rather than "a work of short fiction" the anthology is several short stories—some erotic, some graphic, some romantic—by twelve different authors, a few of whom have up to five stories inside. Not incredibly varied. That said, it is not especially thematic either. The stories all cover a wide range of topics from foot fetishes to Cinderella stories, without ever weaving a common theme.

For an anthology or collection of short stories to work as whole (at least for me), there usually has to be a common thread, even if it were just the quality of the stories themselves. Unfortunately, here again the collection falls short. There are a few stories worth noting but many are typical, unimaginative and lack passion, feeling more like generic scenarios thrown together in a haphazard format with a bit of sex thrown in to market them under the erotica genre.
