Man’s Best Friend

Anyone who’s lived with a dog, or dogs, will quickly appreciate a story told in the first person by a dog! Every dog has its own story, but Meriwether Lewis’ dog, Seaman, had an epic to relate. I’ve heard people say how much more they appreciate history through the immediacy of an eyewitness, but the eyes of a loyal friend tell a special story. This is a remarkable and entertaining retelling of one of our country’s greatest adventures; and a pleasure to read.

Such fun! We recently took a cruise on the Snake and Columbia Rivers, with historian Todd Weber on board. So I had a renewed interest in Lewis and Clark, and this book satisfied my curiosity perfectly.
