The Last Polar Bears and the Last Cowboys

Grandfather is off on an expedition to the North Pole to find the Last Polar Bears. With him goes Roo and a golf-bag full of equipment. The Intrepid explorers embark on the adventure of a lifetime. In The Last Cowboys the duo are off to America in search of Roo's long-lost grandfather, last heard of living in the Wild West as a cowboy's dog.

Harry Horse wrote and illustrated many books for children, including the popular Little Rabbit picture books and the novels The Last Polar Bears, The Last Castaways, The Last Cowboys, and The Last Gold Diggers. He was also a political cartoonist for several national newspapers in the United Kingdom.

This is not the edition I read; I read the book in a single editon and read The Last Polar Bears also as a single.
The whole series is a hoot. In the Last Cowboys, Roo is more outlandish than ever in a quest to find her grandfather,who was, of course, dog to a famous cowboy, one One-Eyed Jack
