Rotten Egg Paterson to the Rescue

Rate this book
Danny "Rotten Egg Paterson" earns his nickname by trying to hatch an emu egg that he had saved from a hungry goanna lizard in the Australian scrublands. His nemesis is Hacker Belton, who first teases Danny by tossing the egg around and then maliciously places it near a goanna in a school nature - day exhibit. Danny foils the bully by rescuing the chick and hiding it under his shirt, where it pecks its way out during a class recital. The chick becomes a symbol to the town of the need for preserving wildlife.
