I decided I was going to read a new age fairy tale each night before I went to bed. One night, as I turned out the light, Kevin asked me, "So, did you read all about unicorns?" I told him I did, in fact, that the story I read that night was about a girl who got to be a unicorn for the day.

So it's that kind of new age book. The stories are about magic, fairies, dragons, and stars. They're also about coping with panic, sorrow, guilt, grief and moving forward in life. Instead of the traditional outward-facing fear-based fairy tales, these focus on conquering the inner self. That may sound cheesy, but they're the kind of fairy tales I would love to have the kids I love grow up reading.
