The mind of the civilized world, brought into sympathy and close connection by the Wires of the Telegraph, is now earnestly directed to the question of uniformity in the language of business relations; and the Metric System of France is presented as a means of effecting such uni formity.
In May, 1866, the following bill was passed by the Con gress Of the United States.
