Strategic Job Jumping is an easy to read and useful book for anybody considering a career change. Written by consultant Julie Hartman, the book helps dispels the myth that it is essential to stay in one job for career success. This book helped me realize that the skills I had developed over 20 years working for my first two companies were valuable and highly transferable assets. Hartman does a nice job of presenting the reader with thoughts on whether a strategic job jump would be beneficial for the reader. The advice is very useful and Hartman presents a number of useful ideas for networking, for preparing for that jump and negotiating the best possible outcome. This book was highly influential on my subsequent successful strategic career changes.
