I absolutely loved 'Both Sides of the Easel' by Barbara Youree! This beautifully written historical Christian romance novel transported me to 17th-century Rome, where art and love intertwined in a captivating tale.
Bianca Marinelli, a talented and determined young artist, and Marco Biliverti, a former nobleman turned stonemason, stole my heart with their poignant love story. Despite the societal norms and class differences that threatened to keep them apart, their love shone brightly, inspiring hope and courage.
The author's vivid descriptions of Renaissance art and architecture immersed me in the world of Caravaggio and Bernini, while the characters' struggles and triumphs resonated deeply. The writing is engaging, and the story flows effortlessly, making this a delightful read for fans of historical Christian fiction.
What I appreciated most was the novel's exploration of women's roles in art and society, as well as the power of love to overcome adversity. Bianca's determination to pursue her passion for art, despite the odds against her, is a testament to the strength and resilience of women throughout history.
Overall, 'Both Sides of the Easel' is a captivating and uplifting novel that will leave you feeling inspired and hopeful. If you enjoy historical Christian romance, art, and a good love story, this book is a must-read!
