Marilyn: Her Life in Pictures
Was there ever anyone else like Marilyn? It's nearly 50 years since her untimely death and no one has been able to step into her shoes. Gorgeous pictures... of course. Some rare. Loved that there were pics of Earl Theisen's photo shoot with MM in the blue dress. However, couldn't bring myself to give it more than 3 stars, since the text was - as with often with these picture books, full of mistakes... even MM in a boat in Scudda was explained that she was "rowing with friends circa 1941". I stopped counting the mistakes cause it started to be too draining. The book claims Howard has is a film historian and has studied specifically Monroe for decades... where the heck does it show then???? Sorry, but if THAT is true, then the mistakes are unforgivable, and the text is plain crappy. But I recommend it for the pics, that's the main thing after all! And even when we've seen most of them, there are always a few gems among them... Yup,the pictures...Most of us know her story anyway ;)
