Women of the Bible, like us, faced flaws and brokenness, yet God's power transformed their lives. 'Discovering Our Dignity' lets you learn from their experiences, finding ways to cope with unwanted situations and deferred hopes. Their stories, recorded in Scripture, offer ancient wisdom, sage advice, and insights from failures and emotional wounds. Explore how God worked in the lives of Biblical Leah and Rachel overcame jealousy, Abigail's faith never wavered, Deborah acted as God's prophet, and Mary's 'yes' to God changed everything. A 22-lesson Bible study with accompanying talks is included.

I enjoyed this study of women in the Bible. Some I knew a lot about, and some of the women chosen were a surprise but led to great discussion as always! It wasn’t as cohesive as her other studies but I like how she tied Mary back to Eve. Solid study for a women’s small group!
I read this book as part of our WWP bible study.. the end of the study was cancelled due to COVID... so I just finished it on my own. Again with all of WWP books... there are days when they are spoon feeding us like we are in elementary school and then some of her answers are so far out there without an references to how she got her answer that my group generally doesn't agree. We love learning about all the women in the bible although the title of the chapter may have a woman's name but the majority of the chapter would be about men....
This study did a good job of making me look at many things from a completely new lens. For many of the studies I really felt like Brenninkmeyer did a great job of drawing connections and giving new perspective. Other times a bit contrived. I was excited to study the women of the Bible but was disappointed at some of the women who were left out (Judith, Sarah wife of Tobias, Delilah, Mary Magdalen, the woman at the well, to name a few).
I loved this study! It did a great job relating the women of the Bible, both Old and New Testament, to the lives we are living today. Highly recommend any Walking with Purpose study to deepen our faith and relationship with God, ourselves and those in our lives. ❤️
Insightful content. Author Lisa Brenninkmeyer consistently digs deeply into Scripture and commentary to bring forth greater understanding by bringing to light aspects of the people and their culture that the casual reader would not be aware of otherwise.
