About the author

Bibhutibhushan Mukhopadhyay was a renowned Bengali author. Bibhutibhushan's early days were spent in Darbhanga, Bihar, India. His college life was spent in Kolkata. He as a schoolteacher and journalist.

Child psychology and middle class Bangali lives were focused in his writing. His first book, ‘Ranur Prothom Vagh’ was published in 1934.

He was honored with Ananda Puraskar in 1958, Rabindra Puraskar in 1972 and Sharatchandra Puraskar in 1978, Jagattarini Puraskar from Calcutta University, D.Litt from the University of Burdwan and Desikottama from the Visva-Bharati University of Shantiniketan.

বারবার এই পরিচয়টা বিলম্বিত হচ্ছিল নানা কারণে। কখনোই না হওয়ার চাইতে দেরি করে হওয়া ভালো নীতিতে বিশ্বাসী আমার সাথে শেষমেশ বিভূতিভূষণ মুখোপাধ্যায়ের পরিচয়টা হয়েই গেল। তবে এ দেখাই শেষ দেখা নয়! আরো হবে নিশ্চয়ই। অন্তত রেলরঙ্গ তাই মনে করাল।
