Marc Taite is shocked when Cassie Edwards, the only girl he’s ever loved, suddenly shows up in the club room of his Colorado vacation lodge for the first time since she broke off their romance without explanation and refused to answer his calls. He hauls her upstairs with the intention of spanking her soundly and then getting some answers, but when their old passion flares to life he ends up taking her up against the wall instead of taking her over his knee.
The connection they once shared clearly still exists, but Marc has already lived through the pain of losing Cassie once and he is determined not to let himself be hurt again. Desperate to prove that this time she is truly ready to belong to him, Cassie promises Marc her complete submission, and she soon finds herself on her knees with her bright red bare bottom on display as she begs him to claim her in any way he pleases.
Though he is reluctant to risk his heart again, Marc’s need to protect Cassie quickly overcomes his hesitation after he discovers that a stalker has followed her to Colorado. He takes it upon himself to protect her, punishing her sternly when she fails to obey the rules he makes to keep her safe, but when a misunderstanding leads her to flee from him will he lose her a second time?
Publisher’s Note: Returning to Her Master is a stand-alone sequel to Her Master at Last. It is an erotic romance novel that includes spankings, sexual scenes including a threesome, anal play, exhibitionism, BDSM content, and more. If such material offends you, please don’t buy this book. Also note that an earlier version of this book was previously released by another publisher as the second part of a book titled Make Me Yours.
I live in the Midwest with my husband and two dogs, enjoy spending time with my daughter, babysitting her two dogs, reading and working puzzles. We have traveled extensively, but I much prefer being a homebody.
I began writing erotic novels with an emphasis on erotic spanking five years ago never dreaming that I would get published. I just celebrated the release of my eleventh title and am very thankful to my publisher, Pink Flamingo, for taking a chance on me and giving me the opportunity to enjoy a fun career. While my earlier books lean more towards straight erotica that will appeal to only a very select audience, my last five books are erotic romances. I enjoy hearing all comments from readers. Marc and Cassie had a brief fling, but she wasn't ready for a commitment to someone who didn't even live in the same state. However, she never got over him, and since getting out of a nasty relationship, she's come to Colorado to find Marc again.
From what I've read, BDSM is supposed to be all about communication and honesty -- so why don't the two of them communicate honestly? Probably because then the book would be half as long. Plus, the villainous stalker is an overused trope and the identity of the stalker was really obvious. The writing itself is good, and the book isn't bad, but having read several of her other books, I know B.J. Wane can do better.
This story is pretty good, but it kind of leaves the mysteries unsorted until literally the last page with some of the wrap up not there at all. I think the stalker is an exciting mystery but perhaps he should have appeared at the bakery or something to build the suspense. It would have also been better if after her panic attack she had told Marc about the other Dom and what happened... Then when she went missing and during the scene in the lodge it would make sense how Jack was searching for the guy just in time. I really felt the story didn't address what happened to her , or how they dealt with it. But it is an ok story. The winter story with Jack was better... And its excellent the are both in this story too. Cassie kinda needed Marc to chase her a little too.
I didn't love this book and I think it's because I didn't really like either of the main characters. They were both immature and assumed shit instead of just having a friggin' conversation with one another. Marc Taite is a Dominant, he owns a resort in Colorado called Bear Creek Lodge with his best friend, Jack. The resort caters to those who practice alternative lifestyles, giving them a safe place to vacation and indulge in their passions. Two years ago he was at a BDSM club in Nebraska when he met a sub named Cassie who made a big impact on him even though they only spent three days together. Cassie was a high school English teacher but her real passion was baking. She never forgot the three days she spent with Master Marc but she was new to the scene and thought he abused her trust. Because of that she ran out of the club and told him to never contact her again. It's now two years later and she's uprooted herself to Colorado and bought a local bakery so she can try again with Marc. She shows up at the lodge unannounced during Jack and Morgan's (Her Master at Last) engagement party. Marc is shocked to see Cassie after two years and he's pissed that he wants her just as badly as he did then. Will Cassie be able to convince Marc that she's sorry and that he can trust her again ? Also another thing that irked me about this book was the repeated use of the word ; denuded.
It was a good story, set up in the previous one. The story was kinda short which made it rushed. A couple more chapters and parts could have been explained better and not so condensed. Author made is obvious who the stalker is but not why...that was left hanging.. Sheriff Scott plays a big part in this book, hopefully she will give him his own book.. If it wasn't so short and rushed it would have been a 4 star book as it is the book was only OK.
I absolutely love reading BJ's books. I get so involved in one that I can read a book a day. There's also so much anticipated story lines that you just have to find out how it ends. My only regret is that there isn't another book about Sheriff Scott. He needs his own story
Cassie meets Marc at a free night for newbies at the BDSM club .Marc slowly shows her around and she seems really interested in trying a few things out. BDSM is all about trust and communication. Can they work their relationship out in the end or will it all fall apart ? Another great page turner from this author.
Marc, Cassie, Jack, Morgan, and Scott were great characters. The lodge setting was good for the story. I thought I knew that Greg was the villain from the beginning. Thanks for a good read.
Hot sweet sexy .. He was kind of a jerk when she first came back to him and he should have known better .. But they got past their past and realized they were in love. Again love these books but I'm not into the whole sharing aspect of it ..
The story is entertaining, the sex is steamy, the characters are engaging, but the ending is so abrupt it leaves you going that's it? If you read and liked the first book, you will like this one also. Hoping Scott is next.
Marc and Cassie's interactions are steamy sexy hot! Spankings. Denials. Emotional outbursts. And a stalker to boot... crazy hijinx on a mountain retreat
I enjoyed this story of Cassie and Marc that has flashbacks from two years prior when they met at a BDSM club in Omaha, Nebraska. Marc and Jack had been traveling to various clubs to promote their Lodge in the Colorado mountains, where they offered BDSM retreats. They had also agreed to help out on a beginners night for subs, and that is where Cassie and Marc meet and where she puts her toes in the water towards submission. Marc loves her innocence and willingness, but he pushes her over the edge too fast with wanting to include Jack on that third night. “Cherry. There, I said my safeword and we’re through. Turning, she fled through the club with blinding tears, her heartbreaking; she never looked back.” Regrets, lots of regrets on both Cassie’s and Marc’s part bring them to present day and Colorado.
The plot offers and open and honest view of how Cassie felt experimenting into submission, where she panicked, feels like she made a huge mistake. She attempts a vanilla relationship, then tries to learn under a different dom, and goes as far as buying a bakery in the same area in Colorado to seek to rectify those mistakes. Marc has never really gotten over his short time with Cassie; he regrets pushing her too far, too fast, but her showing up and coercing him to let her share his bed, now he is going to make his own demands. Throw in a stalker that is sending notes puts several Doms on alert. The story brings out excellent examples of how critical it is to have an open, honest and detailed discussion when venturing into D/s scenes. “Maturity forced her to be honest with herself… confirmed she got off on domination…she wanted to submit body and soul.” Disclosure: I received an e-copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. All thoughts, opinions, and ratings are my own.
Cassie Edwards walked out of Marc’s life after two very intense encounters in a BDSM club. Two years later she shows up at his vacation lodge in Colorado wanting to rekindle what they once had. Marc immediately feels a connection with Cassie, but doesn’t want to risk his heart. When a stalker threatens Cassie, Marc’s protective side kicks in and he has no choice but to offer Cassie a place to stay until the stalker is caught.
This is a relatively mild BDSM romance with a little suspense thrown into the mix. The characters were all fairly well written and likeable, and the small town Colorado setting was perfect. I particularly liked, Scott, the sheriff, and Marc’s wingman. I really hope he gets his own book in the future.
I received an ARC of this book from Stormy Night Publications.
I enjoyed this book. Two years ago the intensity was too much for Cassie however in the intervening time, Cassie has taken stock and has a better idea of what she wants and what she can handle. She is determined to make things work with Marc if he is willing. There are some twists which add another dimension. This is a great page turner. I received this book from Stormy Night Publications as an advance review copy.
I enjoyed this book. The twists and turns, with the elements of suspense and danger, combined with a budding romance and some steam made for a very good read. Marc and Cassie certainly had their issues but their journey kept me turning the pages. This is a sequel but stands alone nicely. I received this book from Stormy Night Publications as an Advanced Reader Copy.
