A short and easy read but still interesting.
Bruce Quarrie is a man who seems infatuated with the Waffen-SS, his works have garnered much criticism. However, this book, while at points does seem to adhere to the SS mythos, seems to do a good job of just laying down reality without becoming embroiled in morality.
He doesn't dismiss or downplay the atrocities, he just doesn't put it as the focus of his book.
The book is a bit dated now but the amount of pictures and tables are still valid and should be of interest to anyone who is interested in this era and this formation that blurs the lines between Military and Party.

Dear samurai lovers, in the book there's nothing related to samurai. It's a historical book.

I find the phenomenon of the Waffen SS to be very intersting and I thought this book did a good job. It's relatively short as well.
