The topic of horses and healing has long been an interest of mine, so when I spotted this book, titled Horses Who Heal, I had to read it. Not only is this book a wonderful account of some very special horses and the amazing work they are doing with troubled youth, it's also the story of a very inspirational woman who has time and again put the health of others before her own in a bid to ensure the survival of a healing place where horses work in with humans. Sue's story, and that of her horses, is a touching one. She tells it with great humour and unflinching honesty. Above all, her love for her horses shines through from beginning to end. My favourite part of the book came towards the end when Sue dedicated a chapter to her horses and their personalities, sharing anecdotal examples to highlight each characteristic. Her program is about to turn a corner in terms of accessibility to people all around the country and I wish her well with this. As a person who works with youth, I would love see her methods available in the rural and country areas of Australia. She is a true inspiration and I highly recommend her book. #AWW2016
