Ever met a stranger who changed your view of life forever? Could one sentence change the way you look at relationships? Work? Maybe even your world? There are many day to day interactions that we brush off as unimportant. What if we saw more? What if we left the world better, in each moment, than it was when we arrived? Even if that meant doing hard things. What would that look like? What would that mean for your job, for your family, for your life?
Consider what could happen if we took responsibility for not just our mess, but cleaned up found messes, even if it isn't ours. What could this mean for a company? What if you taught your employees to take initiative to leave the world and the things around them better than they found them?
The Sink is the story of the small moments that make the biggest impact in our lives and our business, if only we pay attention. All it takes is one moment to transform and shift our perspective. Like the book Who Moved My Cheese, The Sink will ignite individuals, employees, leaders, and CEOs in organizations across the world to give more, pay attention to the details, and achieve results by leaving everything better than the way they found it.

This book is written with very simple yet powerful quote. "It's not a bad idea to leave things a little better than how you found them." The author has shown ways to apply this quote in life.
I got "Beached Whale" and "The Sink" in one mail from the author - Daren Martin in the exchange of the honest review. I accepted both books but didn't download that time. I completely forgot about books after that. Last week, while checking emails I found the mail and instantly downloaded book to Kindle app. I finished both books within an hour. Yes, both books in an hour because both are just hardly 20-30 pages long.
This is a must read for every single person, not just on a corporate level . A wonderful, short very inspirational book that makes you think how you can change things and make them better. Chock-full of ideas, simple everyday things that people can do to make a change, however small and inexpensive.
I have already placed an order for a printed copy.
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with an ARC and the opportunity to read and review this book.
This is an absolute must read. One simple question... "what would it look like if everyone left things better than they found them as a way of life?" spawned by one statement one person made while cleaning an sink at an airport. The man was dressed in a sharp suite and simply said, "you know, it's not a bad idea to leave things a little better than how you found them."
It's a short read, 10 to 15 minutes but the implications can dramatically change every aspect of your day.
I rated this book 3 Stars after my first read through. Initially, it seemed too simple. Practical, sure.. but life changing “meh”. I woke up the next day and started acting on the book’s theme “Leave it better than you saw it”. Using the action of entering new environments/rooms/scenes as a reminding trigger to intentionally do easy tasks (cleaning, organizing, saying a friendly “hello” to others) compounds more than I would have ever realized without reading this book. How quickly I saw the results which I did not originally expect, earned my 5 Star rating. It’s up to the reader how they want to commit to this theme.. it does not need to stop at material things like a sink or room. It’s highly effective when applied to personal and work relationships as well.
